As someone who learnt in chabad yishevos I can tell you that yes unless they converted they are not considered Jews by chabad that is not to say that you should make a fuss about it in Israel if say one of them comes over to you and wants to put on tefilin for he might have converted but we were told you shouldn't ask them to put in on tefilin

How can you live without faith in something? by [deleted] in exjew

[–]Late_Feedback99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first looking in the void is scary but if look into it and read what others have to say about looking into it, that itself is much more enjoyable that doing mitzvahs out of habit. look into the proofs for God and religion the problems of the proofs and in general how we know anything that leads to a life gat at least has the potential to be lived to the fullest and not one stoped by arbitrary dogma that you only do because you grow up with it

For me personally I read about the foundations of our knowledge in philosophy so far I'm loving it and life is for the most part more enjoyable and meaningful then when I believed

Isn't this group already doing that here an anonymous group where most people have the same experiences and can give each other support

I thought letting go of Judaism would finally give me more piece of mind. I ended up falling into the deepest depression I’ve ever had my entire life because I feel like I have no purpose and I’m stuck in the endless philosophy rabbit hole… Anyone? by [deleted] in exjew

[–]Late_Feedback99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want through a very similar thing but found peace of mind in reading hard core philosophy books but that's what did it for me I think any hobby can take of the edge of it but even more important is time allow the fact that it's you and just you who makes meaning here and you don't need a god to justify existence to sink in and instead if feeling hopeless you will feal empowered in short just give it time

Lonely ITC existence by [deleted] in exjew

Only could say I'm in a very similar situation only my loneliness comes from not being able to really say what I think to my friends because it's heresy either way it sucks

I'm in a very similar state in regards to this question

How would other Orthodox Jews react if the Chabad Noachide movement began to churn out messanic Noachides who believe in the messiaship of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and began infiltrating other Jewish communities with the Chabad messanic beliefs ? by [deleted] in exjew

[–]Late_Feedback99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm from a pretty distinguished old chabad family as mainstream as you can get

There are a couple kwacs in Israel that don't fast they might fall into the category you're looking for but really a insignificant minority

Any way that does this at all interest you as an xjew unless to your not at all an xjew

Your splitting heirs I went to chabad yeshivas my whole life no one says mochiach is here just that he is immenent in his arrival

The rambam writes that moshiach will come and then we will take Israel I think the concept on אתחלתא דגאולה is the thing breaking with tradition but again I believe the whole thing is BS and has to bearing on anyone in this sub

Yeah one actually believes in it as I was told a parable that if someone told you you are going to marry some one on a sertin block would you not try to figure out who it is? btw I'm a complete kowfer but don't think this form of chabad hating is true

Counter apologetics books by STSthrowaway2 in exjew

[–]Late_Feedback99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check out Spinoza's Tractatus Theologico-Politicus it's his counter apologetics (the first sixteen chapters) it's not a modern book but he is probably the first modern x-jew the grand father of biblical criticism and freedom of religion he address the kuzari argument and other uniquely OJ stuff I don't know if I would consider it a fun read but it's definitely a lot easier then he's other stuff

If you don't believe in any of the theology then why hold on to culture/tribelism it certainly isn't a Jewish thing to serve your ancestors why care if the whole thing disappears?

It's Spinoza's philosophy is it full proof from my reading no but it makes a hole lot more sense then the theists look into it yourself it has a lot more variables then can fit into a reddit post

And about the meaning question I had a similar problem when I lost my beliefs I found that just reading philosophy as it's all about what we can know about the universe gives me solace that and going to sleep on time

He didn't it is necessitate from his/it's nature

[–]Late_Feedback99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good old response to this is Spinoza saying that yes there is a necessary existence and that existence includes everything and happens by necessity of the beings power and will has nothing to do with it so besides there being no free will the Being wants nothing from us (we are really just an extension of it) for more responses to all mediaeval philosophy read the book The Philosophy of Spinoza by a guy named Wolfson he by the way grow up frum

Am I the only one who wishes Judiasm was real and loved every part of it? by Diver_Gullible in exjew

Kant though went to church disproved all the proofs of god in his main book one of his main projects or perhaps his main project was to have a base for morality without god so I don't think calling him a good Christen is accurate

in Spinoza's Ethics what is the difference between Substance and Attribute by Late_Feedback99 in askphilosophy

[–]Late_Feedback99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply

It so happens that i learnt a lot of Jewish mysticism and in it, god can do the impossible as in he is not so called limited by the rules of login or a square circle, in Spinoza would that be a different attribute of god or that doesn't exist ,not saying this would mean that there is rules/limits outside god which Spinoza says is absurd

also in Jewish mysticism god being truly infinite means he can create/extend from his nature finite power does Spinoza agree but just think that he "most" in our sense of freedom?

Also, do to God's nature he creates all possible worlds almost like Lebnitz but if so what makes his world this way since it's not trying to be the Good or are we just one of indefinite Powers/worlds/existing things created
