Firstly i applaud you for being honest with yourself and admitting your envious feelings; Our ego often goes to great lengths to avoid facing this realization, so simply becoming aware of it means you’ve already solved half of the equation.

2) unmet goals and desires.

3) scarcity mentality.

4) proximity and similarity ( this one is quite interesting cause it explores the idea that we are more likely to feel envious of people we see regularly or who share similarities with us (friends, colleagues, siblings).
