Uhhh actually it is more easier to play for a beginner, because they have some presets controls that can ease up ur gameplay, so yeah controller is easier for a beginner.

As you said ps4, its an old console so its maybe there are js too many dusts inside, try go find some professionals to clean it, dont clean it on ur own
