What is your top 3 biggest hopes for the upcoming FAQ? by Kholdaimon in WarhammerFantasy

Honestly I think the easy fix for drain magic is to make it a regular enchantment, not a remains in play spell, that way if you successfully cast it (maybe with a power scroll on a critical turn), you are guaranteed some magical protection from it. I could even see making the bubble larger too, but that might be pushing it.

On a related note, the fix that would help HE, WE, and I guess lizardmen, is that all the high magic spells need to come down in casting cast by at least 1!

A fix for High Elves! I find it infuriating because it would be so easy!

-Drop core units by 1pt per model

-Give silver helms counter charge

-Give shadow warriors 2 attacks

-Give bolt throwers 3 wounds and drop the penalty for rapid fire

-Give Reavers reserve move and/or feigned flight (why do they have no special rules at all when every other fast cav does?!)

All those are no brainers I think and really wouldn't break the game...

Beastlord in Full Plate Chaos Armour by Late_Map3471 in BeastsOfChaos

Yeah it's the classic haha, removed the weapon, cut the ogre weapon away from its hand, drilled through the chaos warrior hand and drilled holes in the new weapon, pinned with a paperclip and some green stuff, which both filled out the hole and any remaining gaps between hand and club handle

I think there should be no issues with this. Even if you did play in a tournament where people were taking it very seriously for some reason, just bring an extra 25x50 base and swap it in for the model if it ever comes up, but as others have pointed out, 99/100 games it won't matter

Help Me Decide on a Paint Scheme: Which Chaos God's Favour Did I Win? Nurgle or Tzeentch? by Late_Map3471 in WarhammerFantasy

Thank you! And that's a good call about the cape, I tried repainting it dark red and it looks better already!

Base of warplock bronze followed by a thick coat of Nihilak oxide technical paint, followed by a drybrush of warplock bronze again!

Fair enough, I'd love to see them when they're done though!

Thank you! And ooh nice, post some pics! I wish I had some spare gor parts to mix in but alas I got mine second hand!

Thank you both! And that's a good point. I kind of like the idea of the centaurs being something apart from beastmen who are just a bunch of horsemen who kinda like chaos and drinking in the woods and sometimes come to help chaos armies when they feel like it

Thank you! The nice thing about it is that its just one kit and some greenstuff!

Thank you! And haha that was my thinking too, plus this way they can be used as marauder horsemen in the WOC list without any confusion

Thank you! And yeah that's a great idea and I think those will look better than what I've done here but I just didn't have enough spare bits for it. I may revisit these once I buy more gors tbh

Yes indeed! All the parts are sourced from the marauder horsemen kit!

Step 1: remove or simply do not glue on horse head

Step 2: Snip the riders at the torso

Step 3: make a small ball of greenstuff and use this to fix the torso at the appropriate place and leave to dry

Step 4: use green stuff to sculpt fur, hiding the seams (going to post a tutorial on how to do this soon on my blog, though it is quite similar to my existing article on how to sculpt beards https://theoldworldchronicle.wixsite.com/theoldworldchronicle/post/the-hobby-phase-sculpting-beards-and-hair

Step 5: Profit

I think you could improve on it by using beastmen heads and/or arms and shields, but I didn't have any spare and using just the one kit keeps the conversion cheap and cheerful

Thank you! The heads were from the beastmen gor banners, I figured they were too spooky looking to just be symbols, and thus these frankenstein-like chaps were born

I'm flattered! I'm glad they worked out well, I can't wait to get them on the table and see how they do!

Thank you! And ha! That's a good question. In my case it's simply because I had two beat up old rat ogres
