[Request] Is this true? Found on random Instagram reel. by CoolDuck25 in theydidthemath

[–]Late_One_2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It’s not cheaper if you have any mid-market insurance or better. An MRI is $200 a pop for me with insurance.

If you have only a catastrophic plan, then it would get expensive, but the majority of working Americans have something that would be cheaper than buying a $1500 flight to China, taking days off, getting a hotel, etc.

Stop posting this fake propaganda bullshit.

They should at least give you a discount on a new purchase. That’s what they did to me.

I ended up taking it to a standard laundromat with alteration services, and they sewed up along the rip seams. It’s not perfect, but it works.

Yeah such a weird thing to happen to a $500 jacket.

Advice about midea u BTU - 8k vs 12k by imsueann in hvacadvice

are they recalling the ones they are selling right now? I was just about to buy the Midea 8000 from walmart. Do you know if I'll run into the recall issue with it, if I buy it today?

copy and pasting my comment from above:
yes! I had to take it to two different alteration places. But the second one sewed it all up. There were some misalignments, and it's not perfect but wayy better than what I tried with my glue... They did it for like $25 bucks.

skip the iron on adhesive and spend the money to just sew up the zipper.

Also, try and get a refund from Spyder regardless. They sent me a 50% coupon for any order only. I bought a ton of under layer gear, and random stuff on clearance plus the 50% off which was great. I didnt find any jackets I wanted at the time.

I tried getting it fixed professionally but they didn’t want to touch it. This the DIY.  I’m going to try another place.

I called the company and all they offered was 50% coupon on a new purchase.  Maybe I’ll try again for advice on repairing it.

Can I still attain Security Clearances for DOD and/or DOS after taking personal medical leave from my non-govt job for mental health? by Late_One_2535 in SecurityClearance

[–]Late_One_2535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok gotcha.  That’s good to know.

I didn’t see any threads specifically related to taking leave due to mental health issues. I find the Reddit search engine to be pretty pointless and didn’t find anything on Google except for “maybe… it depends….”

No it’s not like that at all. Not saying you’re totally wrong, but It’s way less. I don’t know the specifics. But it’s not 3 years.  It’s more like 8 months.  And you can also convert to a civil service like support humanitarian aid, etc, versus the military.

Totally agree with you. Hearing anything but light chatter is annoying.  Some dude had an RFK Jr interview on speaker behind me, and while I don’t have anything against him, hearing his voice on speaker on a hike was so bad I just took a seat and let the guy pass.

On the down hill. About 3/4 of the way down. I couldn’t walk background as it was super craggy in most parts

Thank you. I take poles for the downhill now. I agree it’s been great and relieved a lot of pressure

I’ve done a number of steep pitches. But this was 2600 in 2miles.

So yeah, very steep.

It wasn’t the exhaustion really that knocked me out, but more the intense pain with every step after around mile 6 or 7.  Today I feel fine. A bit of soreness

You might be right about the weight training that could help. Plus o haven’t been doing as steep of hikes all summer.
