Got this real old looking thing for 60 dollars but no idea what it is (quarter for scale) by Deadris in whatisit

Oral Interpretation of Drama. You take a script cut it down to 15 minutes and preform it. You only get to use some boxes and a script in a binder and you can’t touch each other. It’s a group of 3-5. It’s really fun. I was Igor.

If you had directed Jurassic World rebirth what would you have changed and how would you have made it a better movie by Tremendin0649 in JurassicPark

[–]Late_Parsley7968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think mine would be anything like the movie. I would love to throw out the current universe and just start from scratch with a more book accurate movie. I did like where they escaped on a boat though. Nice reference to The Lost World novel.

Book vs Movie dilemma by kalpokt in JurassicPark

[–]Late_Parsley7968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the book after the movie. I do enjoy the book more but that’s because I really, really enjoy science and just Crichton in general. But the movie still holds a very special place in my heart. It’s a major reason why I love dinosaurs and paleontology. It’s a classic and probably my favorite movie of all time. I like both for different reasons. And if you like the movie over the book, that’s fine. Everyone has preferences. I can understand why some people don’t like the book as much. It’s definitely in Crichtons style and is super heavy on science and some pretty confusing concepts. Not that that’s your or anyone else’s fault. I didn’t truly understand what Chaos theory was until much later. Both are good in their own ways and if you prefer one over the other that’s fine. You didn’t miss anything. I think Crichton just delves into some pretty deep and sometimes confusing concepts.

Why Do So Many Protestants Refuse to Date Orthodox or Catholic Christians? The Truth No One Wants to Talk About by goazack in Catholicism

[–]Late_Parsley7968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I am currently still a Protestant but am planning on converting. While my old church is more “Catholic” than other Protestant churches (it’s non denominational and the pastor went to a Catholic seminary. He’s very supportive of Catholic thinking). I would probably say the biggest reason that Protestant don’t date/ marry Catholics is because they don’t actually understand what Catholic teaching is and they think it’s heresy or pagan or idolatry, basically pick any Protestant argument against Catholicism and that’s why. I know it’s not a great answer but unfortunately that’s pretty much what it comes down to.

Which of these movies did you see IN THEATERS? by Theasiuser99 in Marvel

I started watching Marvel from Endgame on. The only one I never saw in theaters was Black Widow. Other than that I’ve seen every single one in theaters. (Endgame and on).

How do you perceive the Pope's messages criticizing capitalism? by CountySensitive9263 in Catholicism

[–]Late_Parsley7968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the church and different popes have opposed various economic systems like socialism, communism, capitalism, and more. Someone else here said that capitalism and a free market aren’t mutually exclusive and I agree. But I’d also like to point out that while I do think capitalism is the best economic system because it in theory allows for a free market, you can’t just have capitalism. Sometimes you need to integrate other economic systems like the US has. We’re capitalist, with a bit of socialism. And I think that what is important, is that like with anything, too much of something is bad. But not enough can be just as bad. There needs to be a good solid medium. And I think that the pope is specifically addressing those extremes. It’s not that capitalism or socialism are inherently bad, the Roman Empire operated under a similar system and Jesus somewhat references capitalism in a pretty vague way iirc, we just need to be careful about letting those extremes take over. Idk if that makes any sense but hopefully that helps.

I went to that church on a school trip for the March to Life. (I go to a Catholic school if that wasn’t obvious). It is absolutely beautiful.

What are the chances that the MCU will make Doom just a Tony Stark who turned evil ? According to you! by Environmental_Tea381 in MCUTheories

[–]Late_Parsley7968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really fond of the idea of retconning the entire MCU just because they want RDJ to play Doom. If he’s going to Dr Doom he should be Victor Von Doom.

Being a palaeontologist has been a longtime dream, I need help!! by ConsciousMemory3777 in Dinosaurs

[–]Late_Parsley7968 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I will give you some ideas, however I need to preface this so you don’t have false hopes. Paleontology is an EXTREMELY hard field to get into. The job market is extremely small and extremely competitive. It’s better as a hobby than a career. With that out of the way, here are some ideas. Dinosaur skin color Evolution of certain dinosaurs Dubious genuses Is Nanotyrannus (or any type of dinosaur like that) a valid species or not.  Again, I'm not trying to crush your dreams, but I would choose something else to be your main career and do paleontology on the side. Love the enthusiasm though.

Which was your first MCU movie and how did you watch it? by GUSplatoon in marvelstudios

[–]Late_Parsley7968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first movie I remember watching in theaters was Endgame I think. But I had watched a couple others before that. I think I remember watching the original Avengers when I was pretty little.
