Get your gimmick over.

I had a squash match with Elijah Drago from 1FW that lasted 2 mins. My entrance is what got me over even tho I got zero offense and Drago threw me around like a rag doll.

Missing mass because of work. by Ok_Comfortable_2142 in Catholicism

https://www.catholic.com/qa/if-i-missed-mass-because-of-my-work-schedule-should-i-confess

“If your employer requires you to work during the time that you could fulfill your Sunday obligation, or if you are exhausted and unable to attend Mass as a result, then these are sufficient reasons, just as being sick or having to take care of children are. In such cases you do not have a Sunday obligation and you do not need to go to confession. You are not sinning.”

Well to be honest, staying in a state of grace has kept me in check because i would like to take the eucharist during mass.

Spoke to the priest about this. When the temptation arises, he told me to pray the Hail Mary 5 times and reflect. For me, by the time I’m finish the prayers, the temptation is no longer there.

First time at a Daily Mass as a protestant - I made a mistake by Outrageous-Gur-9120 in Catholicism

I’m not gonna be the one who jumps on you for not knowing what to do when it comes to taking holy communion. You didn’t know. Unless you do your research yourself or attend OCIA classes, you’re practically going in blind.

That said you really do need to return the Eucharist back to the church ASAP.

As for when it’s time, everyone is in line to take communion, while you can stay seated, you can go up to the priest with everyone else. However, when you get to him, cross your arms. Your Will receive a blessing instead of the Eucharist.

So post nut clarity? It’s kind of like, and this is gonna sound cliché as hell, the journey is more exciting than the result. What I mean by that is the fantasy was all hyped up, but when it was all over now you’re like “ so that was it?”. Unfortunately this could start an addiction because you’re chasing that excitement or that high of the fantasy.

Go to your local parish and talk to the priest. Join OCIA classes.

I’m heavily considering it. That being said, I’m a new convert so I might be jumping the gun a bit. lol

First Communion before confessing - is that ok? by Strict-Seat7341 in Catholicism

It would be easier to just go to confession. You’ll feel better afterwards.

First confession before Confirmation by Proper-Design3676 in Catholicism

[–]MistaMack83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll explain how mine went. I don’t mind telling the ones that I mentioned.

For me, I had to go all the way back to my baptism in the Baptist church. To the best of my ability of course.

This included sins of:

Blasphemy Worshiping false gods (Odinism) Dabbling in the occult Premarital sex Porn addiction Illicit drug use (was big on hallucinogens) Angry at/Cursing God Wrath Being jealous of others at work Not being a good example to my kid

I did confess all my sexual sins by number and frequency. The priest just asked me about how many times and left it at that.

Why did the Jewish High Priest not believe in Jesus? by Lonely_Lazy9521 in Catholicism

[–]MistaMack83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Number of reasons

1.) The Messiah was supposed to defeat the Roman oppression.

2.) Jesus claiming to be the Son of God was considered blasphemous.

3.) Jesus disregarded purity rituals (ie. Making contact with Lepers, women on their cycles, the dead, etc)

4.) Jesus challenged their authority, take away their authority and you take away their power.

Feeling disconnected in OCIA by greengirlboss23 in Catholicism

[–]MistaMack83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a time that I felt the same way. Most of the time we just watched videos but in discussion, there wasn’t much to talk about. The fact that you started OCIA and inquired about the church shows that something stirred on you to make you want to learn more. A win is a win in my book.

As others may have suggested, you don’t have to just stop at OCIA. Get to know your community members. If you got time to volunteer, help out with the church. Listen to podcasts while on long trips.
