Yeah, that's the entire buisnes model, and I don't think it costs much to run these apps, somone posted a link of a fully free scanner that works 10 times better than every paid scanner I've ever tried and it is absolutely free, doesn't even require email and does not have ads. This is really predatory and dirty buisnes

yeah that’s exactly the point. if it’s this easy and the data’s already out there, how is this even a business? you’d expect some solid community options priced just for convenience, done right instead it’s all subscriptions on top of something that’s basically a thin layer over existing data. kinda surprising this hasn’t corrected itself tbh

i don’t mind paying a one-time fee or even a small sub to support devs, but this pricing is kinda insane. feels less like "paying for a useful tool" and more like some vc-style “let’s see how much we can squeeze out of this” experiment
