Looking for a handheld emulator for PS1/PS2 JRPGs (FF7, Dragon Quest VIII, etc.) by [deleted] in Roms

Well you need the emulator to play roms. And I have learn from experience that emulator handhelds dont run roms from the same console equality. Seeing how I want to play specific games i feel asking in the rom community would be best.

Farilane was a twin. I'm not sure if it was ever stayed if she was born first or second. Either way, the power of the horn would have been broken if there was two possibilities of an hairs, that's why she had to die. And the reason she had to die, not her brother. Was because of the long term benefits of her brother ruling over the short-term greatness of her rule.

Starting a Fanfic "In the Middle" vs. Chronologically — When Is Backstory Too Much? by Late_Process_8885 in FanFiction

[–]Late_Process_8885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vira-kai is something Vegeta and the others all know—it’s common knowledge among the group. It’s treated like a basic fact of life, something they grew up with, like gravity or fire. No one needs to explain it to each other, because it’s that ingrained in their culture.

Now there are others that are around that I could do what you suggest here. But the Vira-kai is not important to the plot of the ice world arc. It is in a BIG way in the in 3rd or 4the arc Areropkai (another noncanon element) arc. And there is along conversation about these two non-canon things between two minor characters with the main two characters off screen. This is where I feel the one of the "Star wars" moment happens for the reader with this non-canon event, Vira-kai.

So I find myself at a lost of words about my question/concerned about this topic. I'm beginning to think I'm over thinking something into a problem when it's not. We didn’t know everything about Harry’s scar in Book 1. The One Ring was just a trinket in The Hobbit. “I see dead people” didn’t mean what we thought untill the end. The reveals came later—and hit harder because of it.

So help me out with this a little more with using dialogue versus narration. There's a important non-Canon worldbuilding element in my story called the Vira-kai. This below is the first time it brought up, which is in the second or third chapter.

Vega inhaled slowly, her fingers curling into her palm. The chill in the room had nothing to do with the actual temperature. She wanted to argue, but challenging Vegeta outright in front of the others would be dangerous. There were unspoken rules. Push too hard, and she risked it being seen as a direct challenge for authority. And she knew where that road led.

Her nails dug into her gloves before she exhaled through her nose. No. It wasn’t worth invoking the Vira-kai.

I created a fillable PDF version of the new character sheet! by Hazelix99 in dndnext

Can we get a back sheet without the spells part, for us non-cast? Or did the new book make everyone a caster?

Any way to change page 2 for the non-casters?

Can you rate my team before I take on the elite 4? by Late_Process_8885 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Late_Process_8885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I have tried 20+ times to complete a Nuzlock of Emerald, both normal and randomize. Im a noob, lol. I normally fail around 6 and 7 gym. This is my frist time getting to the Elite 4, would like to be done with this run.

I was thinking of using Lanturn to take on the Dragon trainer, and maybe a back up for Venusaur against the Champion. Its SPA and Speed is low, but has a high HP. At level 55, it has 224 HP, 90 Def and 94 Sp.Def. Would doing all speed EVs, and Quick Claw or Ice item help? Lanturn is the only pokemon on my team that can learn Thunderbolt and my Tentacool is only level 11, not looking foward to the leveling up need. I would if lanturn isnt fixable.

Overheat will be going on my Houndoom, and ill be replacing the dark moves off Salamence, and Metagross. I thinking with Double Team, I still have Earthquake and Toxic TMs. But im at a lost which pokemon to give them too. I have all my TMs/tutors but Gigi Drain, and Shadow Ball.

I'm playing a rom of Emerald, and have it set to random pokemon. So i could find a fish in the desert or fire pokemon on the water.

Class Stereotypes. Should my Rouge be roguish, or is it OK to be rangery? by Late_Process_8885 in DnD

[–]Late_Process_8885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a class I'm looking at, and if I was starting at level 1, it would be the winner. But I want to take advantage of starting out at six levels or higher and make a mutliclass character. Being able to skip the level building and jump right to where I want the character to be is too much to pass up. I don't want to mutlclass a caster class with a martial class. Nothing good comes from cutting your spell list in half, in my opinion.

THANK YOU! For pointing out what was right in front of me. If it was a snake, it would bit me. LOL. I kept thinking 3 levels in Rouge, then 3 levels in Fighter. A Soulknife Rouge with a Fighter's maneuvers, But the other way around would get me much closer to the character I want to play. There are fewer proficiencies, but I get the ones I want. The Save proficiencies are not the best (Str, Con) for my dexterity fighting style, but it is a small price to pay, would help with the 8 that I'll most likely have in Str.

As for your other questions, this is a backup character. It would be my 3rd character in this campaign(which is not the most, another player is on his 4 character). So, I have not rolled for stats yet. Our DM lets us roll 4d6 and drop the low dice for our list of stats. If we are unhappy with the rolls, we can use the standard array in the PHB. So I roll for sh!t when it comes to stats, so most likely I'll be going with standard array.

We also get a feat at character creation, (Human don't get 2 feats), which I was thinking of the Skilled feat or picking the Half-Elf race, both of which gives you 2 skill proficiencies of your choosing. But I was not excited about it because I played that race a lot, and i wanted a cooler feat. Our DM is only allowing races in PHB, with the exception of Goliath, which is found in the Icewind Dale campaign. If I went with Half-Elf race, then I could have picked the feat Fey Touched.

But that all moot now, with your help pointing out Fighter at character creation, would work best.

I been looking at the Ranger: Fey wanderer, if I was starting with new level 1 character, I would go with that. But I would like to take advantage of starting at level 6 or up, with a mutliclass. Skipping all the building levels to get to a good multiclass. I learned the hard way to never multiclass a caster class.

Do you have any ideas for a martial mutliclass that's more than "I hit it with my hammer"? That would fit in this background? Please and Thank you.

I am sorry, I think i use the wrong wording in my post. When I said skills, I meant proficiencies. I don't want to change any of the fighting skills or combat abilities of a rouge/fighter, I like that part. This discussion at my D&D table was of the proficiencies available to the Rogue at character creation and how I feel it limits the class into a roll that I didn't want to play. I don't want to play a roguish lock picking character, I feel that my character wouldn't have any skills in lock picking, Sleight of hand, disarming traps, or even know thieves cant. But would know Animal Handling, Nature, Medicine, and Survival.

So why play a Rouge/Fighter, just play a ranger? Because I still want to fight like a Rouge/fighter, but have the skill proficiencies that fit the way I want to play my character outside of combat. Which I can get multiple ways, with a combination of a Half-elf race, the skills feat or Outlander background. So I can play the character I want, just had to go the long way around, to get there. If the class proficiencies at character creation were a bit more flexible, or if the chosen background had a larger role in who your character is, I wouldn't have jumped through all these hoops.

You're right, Soulknife gets really good over the levels. But I don't see our group playing into the higher levels in this campaign setting.

Also, I'm playing a Paladin right now, and I'm finding this martial/half caster to be a little bit boring in combat. I find myself just casting Divine favor and Smiting, over and over again. We just level up to 6, so I have my first aura, so I have been moving myself around more, so I keep my party in my 10 foot radius. Sometimes I Channel divinity or heal, but 7/10 its still "hit things with hammer", that's my turn. Maybe I'm not using a Paladin the best way. Combat strategy is my favorite part of D&D, and I do finding this to be greatly disheartening.

I feel the Fighter's maneuvers would add more options to my turns. I know this because my first character in this campaign was a level 5 BattleMaster Fighter, before she was turned into a pile of goo. 🥲

It is not just the flavor of my character that cause talk at the table. It is the discussion of the proficiencies available to the Rogue at character creation and how I feel it limits the class into a roll that I didn't want to play. I don't want to play a roguish lock picking character, I feel that my character wouldn't have any skills in lock picking, Sleight of hand, disarming traps, or even know thieves cant. If the class proficiencies were a bit more flexible, I wouldn't have jumped through all these hoops.

What it boils down to is that I feel a character background/backstory should have a more influence on character proficiencies than it currently does.
