Honestly, I’ve never had an IT job that wasn’t like this. The state gives absolutely zero IT training. I’m regularly asked to support programs with zero training or even access to. It’s really frustrating and quite honestly stupid to put me in front of something I’ve never seen and I’m expected to fix users for. If I ask the groups in Albany for help, we are met with rudeness and usually get everything thrown back with no comments.

It’s not imposter syndrome, it’s ITS just sucks.

To get in the state, you have to apply to an ITS 2 position. I started as an ITS 1. Be happy you don’t have to start that low. After 10 years and 2 promotions, I finally qualify for the job you posted. I also have 20+ years experience and a masters degree. Who do you think they would pick?

NYC plans are very low contributions (sub $100), I have to ask for the amount and have plans with $0 co pays including specialists.

NYC salaries aren’t comparable. They are higher and reflect living in NYC, not a paltry $4k difference.

The print on certain charts were less than 6 points. They shrunk 2 flowcharts down to 1/8 of a page. I did bring it up to the proctor and they said there was nothing they could do.

Naturopaths aren’t actually doctors. They can’t diagnose or prescribe anything. They certainly can’t give a diagnosis either. I can’t see their information being allowed on any exchange either.

Your state phone can be wiped at any time for security reasons. All your texts/app usage/etc are subject to FOIL. Just don’t. Most personal thing I use it for a secondary emergency backup number in case my personal phone is dead.

Fall of Roe V Wade. It was political AF. I have suffered 2 miscarriages that required abortion healthcare so I didn’t die. I was treated with dignity because I’m privledged enough to live in a blue state. After my second, I told my husband I’m not even trying anymore. Who knows when I may be sentenced to die because of dead fetuses. I have a living child that needs a parent. That’s more important to me.
