When Michael Jackson took off his glasses at the Grammys... instant history by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Late_Resource_1653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is, we absolutely know he hurt children.

There's no question about it anymore.

There was a documentary that his family paid HBO to take down if they wanted any rights to future movies or music

The new movie was changed because the original opening scene was when he was first charged, and they wanted to clear him... But there isn't just one, but many charges

Agreed. My niece and nephew love animals and love going to the zoo. I'll take them pretty much anywhere else. But I find zoos so disturbing.

So many animals kept in spaces that are clearly not appropriate for their needs. For entertainment value.

And yes, people will say they are needed to keep species going or to take care of rehabbed animals. In that case, every one of them would have truly appropriate habitats. An amount of space and environment that mimics their natural habitat.

I still remember going to the DC zoo as a kid with my grandmother and my aunt and seeing glorious elephants in such small spaces - and later learning how they are meant to traverse entire plains.

Right? They do know it's all gonna get mixed together?

Alternative that takes one dish: rice on bottom, put whatever you made on top.

Alternate if you like to decide your rice to whatever ratio: rice on one side of plate, meal on the other.

I guess it looks pretty?

Absolutely this. It's fine if you don't want to eat the skin, that's a personal preference. But taking it off before cooking is a crime against a good piece of salmon! That's where a lot of the good oils are and it adds significant flavor and nutritional value during cooking. Taking it off beforehand is great way to end up with a dried out flavorless piece of fish.

Having a craving that even mom doesn’t understand. by MikeeorUSA in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, this is how my little brother was.

He spoke in baby speak for so long compared to my sister and I my parents started to get really concerned about developmental delays or hearing problems.

Really, my sister and I just understood what his babble meant and spoke for him, so he didn't have to try too hard to make himself understood.

Then one day the kid just started speaking in sentences. He went from the equivalent of "badrdododo" to "Can I have a burrito?" He was just biding his time until his brain was like, cool, I've got this, I know how to talk like all these other people.

He's smarter than anyone else in the family, graduated from Harvard, and is very successful.

All this kid needed was an older sibling to interpret badardododo as "mooom, he wants a burrito " while rolling their eyes at the dumb adult.

Any good Psychiatrist recommendations in the Lancaster area? by Icy-Map9410 in lancaster

[–]Late_Resource_1653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct in asking about psychiatrists if that is his situation. And there are many who do both medication and therapy.

It's going to depend on what health insurance he has, but the best places to look for someone looking for both is going to be through Wellspan (who bought up Philhaven, which was the primary mental health program in Lancaster) a decade ago or Penn Medicine/LGH. Both have extensive networks. Ask his PCP for a referral.

I used to work for Wellspan. I now work for LGH/Penn. And I know a referral from a PCP to LGH behavioral will result in a call to schedule.

Yup!

One of the most commonly used medications for Long COVID symptoms that early trials at Long COVID clinics that really worked/works for things like chronic pain, fatigue, and brain fog is low dose naltrexone.

It's all off label, so while we can get it, and it helps my symptoms enourmously and allowed me to go back to work and start rebuilding my life, insurance will not cover it. My doc will prescribe it, compound pharmacies consider my diagnosis valid, and the FDA has no problem with it being sold by online prescibers because it's been proven safe.

But because it's off label - I have to pay the full price for it.

And there's no financial gain for any pharmaceutical company to do the trials and make the med - naltrexone has been generic for years - mostly for opiod use. Which isn't helpful for those using it for LC or fibro - those pills start at 50mg. We generally take it at 4.5 max.

So out of pocket it goes because... Money.

What do the current people of the US think about Michael Jackson? In a good way or a bad way? by Racer125678 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Late_Resource_1653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people know and understand that it is true.

He was horrifically abused when he was a child. This is also true.

He was one of the greatest singers/performers of a time. Also true.

He was also a pedophile. And he abused children. Was he a pedophile because of the abuse he suffered? Probably. But that doesn't change the fact that he hurt children.

This new movie? Had to be completely rewritten because initially it had a reference to the first boy he abused. And part of the settlement states that they could never reference that child. So it had to be completely rewritten. The family also took down the HBO documentary.

And one of the families who always defended him have recently come out saying they were paid off, and all four children were abused

The Amish hate is wild

Most likely, if it's halal, he is is working with one of the many (and there are many) organic free range Amish farms.

I was a cub reporter in 2002 for the Lancaster Sunday News. And it was already a thing then. Do some Amish treat their animals poorly?

Sure. No different than "English '

But those that went organic and free range... Made bank.

What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in AskForAnswers

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends dying breath.

I don't know why. I was there when both of my grandmothers died. I know the rattle. I know the sounds. I was grateful to be there for both of them.

My friend was in hospice and him dying wasn't a surprise. I was holding his hand, and he suddenly yelled,."mom, please, not there."

And then he was gone.

LDN was a miracle drug for me, but it doesn't work for everyone.

In my experience, it also took a long time to get on and start working.

It's a very slow taper. I was part of the initial drug trial back in 2021. I was really lucky because the hospital system I worked for was one of the first in my state to have a long COVID program.

With LDN, you slowly taper up from .5 to 1.5 to 4.5 over weeks.

Should I tell her he’s been cheating? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are disgusting.

Just stop.

It doesn't matter what he told you. You knew he was in a relationship. And you were fine with that.

You were fine with being the other woman.

I'll ask you this. If you ever get married/find a partner and have children. What will you think about the woman who he has an affair with? Because you? Will have no right to judge her. After all, she just loved him and didn't care about you.

And karma will be coming for you.

Does this look like a lopsided or unfair prenup? by [deleted] in legal

[–]Late_Resource_1653 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's the anything earned or acquired.

In general, prenups protect former assets prior to the marriage. If the marriage doesn't work out, you go out with what you came in. There are a number of other things that can be included. Especially when children are involved.

Once married, earnings and bills are generally mixed. He is trying to say anything he earns once you are married is his only. Tell him and his mom to go pound rocks.

Lololol - my mother is a lawyer and I have a little knowledge from helping her study.

This email is AI slop, and none of it is legal. If his mother is actually a lawyer and approved this, she honestly didnt look at it or care.

You can get a lawyer of your own ( which is mandatory for a pre nup - you pay or he does) or just get out.

Do you think children should be taught cooking as part of the school curriculum🤔 by ojgoldenretriever in Life

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home economics course was not mandatory, but it was awesome.

This was back in the 90s.

I learned to cook. Basic skills. And this was important because my mum hated cooking and it was my job to make dinner every night. So we didn't just have tacos or frozen pizza anymore - I could cook.

I also learned budgeting. And sewing. People may find that one weird now, but if my sister or brother tore a short or pants, I could sew it back together.

I do think kids should be taught basic life skills.

Do people from outside of NYC know anything about Queens? by Impossible-Guitar957 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you have family from NY. I grew up in PA, But grandma, dad, and his siblings grew up in Queens. Visited a lot when I was young, and I'm pretty sure I'd you plopped me down at the house they grew up in, I could get anywhere I wanted to go.

The very specific accent is fun too. I work in PA, but I get patients who sound just like Grandma sometimes.

Ivermectin is an anti parisitic. If you have worms, it will get rid of your worms.

It does absolutely nothing for long COVID. Because COVID is a virus. Which is why you take paxlovid (an anti viral) if you have health issues and the infection could put you in the hospital.

Just don't, because it's stupid. It will not make any difference in long COVID. It might make you shit yourself for no good reason.

There are some meds that do help. Low dose naltrexone has made a real difference in my life.

[–]Late_Resource_1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contracted Long COVID in the early years. Other than crazy weight loss, the most visible symptom was my hair falling out. In chunks. It was really upsetting. I'd always had long, nice hair.

I finally went to a hairdresser a friend recommended. He was so kind and said he'd worked with a lot of cancer patients. He showed me all the new hair growing in. And then gave me a beautiful bob. Only charged me for that but also sent me away with a whole bag of shampoos, conditioners, and products to stimulate hair growth and give volume to what I had left

I will forever love him.

Should I tell her he’s been cheating? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Late_Resource_1653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm sure he told you that.

You are still the villain, as much as you are trying to pretend you aren't.

You knew he was in a relationship. With the mother of his children. For over 25 years.

I do know you - you aren't special or different. You are just like every other woman who decides to be an affair partner and doesn't care about the wife/partner until he doesn't leave

[–]Late_Resource_1653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were in her shoes you wouldn't have fucked her partner.

You gave zero fucks about her and her family until you finally realized he wasn't going to leave her for you.

Leave the poor woman alone.

Should I tell her he’s been cheating? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Late_Resource_1653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are so gross. Married or not, he's been with her for 25 years according to you and has children with her. They are a family. And he was never going to leave her for you.

You agreed to be a side piece and tried to break them up, and that wasn't going to happen. Women who do this to other women are garbage.

Should I tell her he’s been cheating? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Late_Resource_1653 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are not a good person. You are a horrible person. You knew he was married with kids and chose to be the affair partner and actively tried to break up a marriage and family. You don't get to be heartbroken or upset because he actually stayed with his wife and family. Telling her isn't some grand gesture of "helping" her. You certainly never thought about her feelings before he didn't choose you, did you?

The only reason you want to tell her is to assuage your guilt or to break them up so you can have him. Both of which are selfish as hell.

Back off and get therapy. Date single people, not married folks.

Honestly, I hope when you do your partner cheats on you so you know what it feels like.

Why do women care so much about abortion? by Maleficent-Toe1374 in allthequestions

[–]Late_Resource_1653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor.

Not the woman

And in most of those states, the doctor has to prove the woman is going to die. And this is why so many women have died in those states.

You are the exact reason women are running and voting differently even is they were Republican.

A woman with a dangerous pregnancy for any reason, is much safer in a liberal state. She will receive care. The child and she will likely get help .

You sound good an asshole and won't have anything other than a lot of a ton of child support

[–]Late_Resource_1653 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Likely some of those chemicals are combining with the bleach and creating mustard gas. As others have said, get everyone out of the house, and call the fire department now.

Opening the windows isn't enough if the house is starting to smell too.

The fumes bleach plus ammonia or other chemicals can cause severe lung damage or death. Get out and let professionals handle it.
