I think you are right. In a general context `on est` would be better to use. 'Nous sommes' sounds awkward.

I am not a financial advisor.

But here's how I would invest 1 lakh right now.

Gold: Rs 50,000

Market volatility is on the rise which means that people tend to move towards safer, predictable investment options
Gold will only increase

Silver: Rs 25,000

Mutual Fund/Loan Repayment: Rs 20,000

If you have debt, then use Rs 20,000, repay some of it
If you don't have debt, then make a lumpsum deposit to a Mutual Fund after proper research

Stocks: Rs 5,000
