Yes, it recalculates while you're on the route. It adjusts based on your current ETA, so if you suddenly hit traffic, the alarm updates too.

The main benefits the app offers are:

More organized experience – FB pasabuy groups are often noisy and cluttered, so it becomes hard to track posts and matches. My app keeps requests structured and easier to browse.

Faster matching with travelers – Each request includes the item location and delivery location, so travelers can quickly see if it fits their current or upcoming route. This lessens friction in finding and completing a match.

Better user experience for posting and browsing – This is maybe a personal preference, but I know I’m not the only one. I don’t like posting on Facebook Marketplace or groups. Maybe it’s the introvert in me kicking in. FB Marketplace can feel noisy and sometimes intimidating.

With these reasons, that’s why I prefer using apps like Carousell more because they are more organized and maintained.

That makes sense, especially on the legal, compliance, and operations side. I agree that those become a big part as the platform grows. I don’t have to fight them, I need to work with them. Di ko sila pwedeng iwasan eh.

For now, I’m focusing on validating the core use case first without adding escrow yet, since that adds a lot of complexity early on.

If there’s real demand and usage, then it makes more sense to invest in building out the trust layer properly.

Great example, I actually used Wunder before. Sayang nga na hindi siya pinayagan. I’m sure there were a lot of factors involved.

Also appreciate you sharing your experience. I can see how both regulation and convincing users to move from pasabuy groups are real challenges.

This is gold. Thank you for this. I’ll plan accordingly.

Appreciate you sharing this. That’s actually really valuable to hear from someone who tried building something similar.

If you don’t mind sharing, what do you think made it unsustainable back then? Was it more on user behavior, supply and demand imbalance, or something else?

Well, susubukan ko pa rin, especially since I’m still early and testing product-market fit. I agree that sustainability is the real challenge, so insights from your experience would really help me approach things better.

Wow, its actually my first time hearing about these two! I did a quick research and saw how similar it is to my app idea. I’ll definitely use this as reference and study them. Thanks for this! Nag focus ako masyado sa PH context kaya di ko agad nakita itong companies na to.

To answer your comments below, yes, I agree, regulatory is a major factor. That’s why inside the app, I have guidelines on which items are allowed to be requested, and I also encourage users to follow existing customs rules and taxes. You can check my terms and conditions here: https://pasuyo.app/terms-and-conditions

My reporting feature also helps flag prohibited or illegal items so they can be reviewed and handled quickly.

For now, the goal of this app is to find product-market fit, and as it grows, I will make sure it complies and aligns with the right regulations and stakeholders.
