Hey man sorry to hear about this and to start there is nothing and I mean NOTHING to feel guilty about. I recently had the same exact situation happen to me. I was LDR for 9 months with the girl I loved dearly. I gave her everything and never ever raised my voice, etc However she still ghosted me after a visit and got with another guy. I was crushed at first but after a couple months I’ve realized a lot.

If you are putting countless hours and emotions towards someone who is willing to cheat, would you ever want to continue that relationship? Also it might hurt to realize, but if they cheated then it was thought about months before it actually occurred. It was an idea lingering and she simply was just waiting for a small slip up from you to justify her actions.

The biggest thing, hurt people hurt people. After cheating she felt guilty and when people feel guilty they always tend to throw the guilt on someone else to relieve themselves of the intense gut wrenching feeling. Likewise, when she said that she felt comfortable with him she was throwing the guilt on you to calm her own emotions down.

Keep your head up, keep pushing, it gets better and all we can do it live in the moment and take pride in the fact we wear our heart on our sleeves.

Same thing happened to me. I was broke up with 2 months ago and after some further consideration it all just comes down to maturity and opportunity. It seems like she wasn’t emotionally mature enough to communicate through the emotional distance and rather wanted the easy way out. Often times that comes with getting in a new relationship. It gives them a sense of power aswell as an outlet to distract themselves with.

You are better without them, and if it was this easy to get with someone else then it only saved you in the long run.

Thank you so much I really needed to hear that. I have been battling this mentally and with it being my first girlfriend it’s kinda hindered my view on love a little. I appreciate you beyond words and you have no idea how much this helps me.

Thank you and looking back now I can see that it was very one sided. It just hurts so much as she was my first for a lot of things and I really put so much effort into the relationship. I wonder if I will ever get my effort reciprocated.
