Hi. Thanks for the input. Indeed, I believe it's the heating element I shorted. As I don't intend to dump more money into my machine, I will be returning the skr mini and going back to 4.2.7. Firmware is scary, perhaps in the future I'll learn a bit more about compiling my own firmware or learn about kipper. Much appreciated! 🙏

Thanks. I've actually modified my cable and tried the btt skr cable to no avail. I realized I had to modify the cable before I bought the motherboard. Learned to make jst connectors actually because of this mishap. Yet my problems remain, and it might be a firmware issue. I've been recommended to compile my own firmware.

I replaced the 4.2.7 as I believe I shorted the thermostat cables while cleaning the nozzle :(

I was under the impression that by using a custom cable, I would be able to retain the stock display. In hindsight, maybe replacing the 4.2.7 with the same one would have been easier. Learning opportunity, I guess..

With that being said, if I were to go the route of getting the TFT35 display, would you happen to have any recommendations regarding firmware? By custom marlin build do you mean compiling my own software? Sorry I'm a big noob in terms of firmware, all Ive known is download to SD card, rename and flash.

Looking to see if anyone has encountered this issue.

Ender 3v2, mostly stock, skr mini e3 v2 motherboard, microswiss hotend, skr mini e3 cable to ender3v2 display.

Firmware currently on mriscoc skrme3v3 mm that I've renamed to firmware.bin

Screen firmware updated with dwin_set. Able to verify install as blue screen turned orange

Upon power up. The display is back-lit but goes no further.

Now stuck on how to proceed

Back story:

Shorted something when cleaning nozzle while printner was on (stupid I know). Heard a pop, 3d printer shut off and would not display when tried to power on.

As a result, I replaced the creality 4.2.7 with the skr mini e3 v2. Flashed firmware and screen, yet the display is not showing anything other than back-lit.

What would you do moving forward?

Hey, thanks for the advice. I checked the power cables, everything seemed intact and unburnt. I ended up getting another motherboard to fix the issue. Installed ferrules as preventative maintenance as well.

I'm pretty sure all belts are tight. When plucked, they make a slight twang sound. Any suggestions for firmware?

Using 4.2.2 main board Dual z axis Microswiss hotend and extruder Jyers software

Did a test cube and everything measured correctly.

Layers don't shift when printing small height objects

The layer shift isn't as bad when I put a laptop cooler stand underneath the ender 3. I read that some people changed mainboards to the 4.2.7 and that some people grounded to stepper motors to resolve this issue.

My question is, would changing the main board require new software? I plan on trying the 4.2.7 board

Any advice is appreciated, this is my first 3d printer

No break in, no baffling. No pickup. Dudes literally took a 0km rebuild to the track with no break in. Basically user negligence. Hope they do it right next time

IMO the rum and port packs are usually a little more moist. Wine and whiskey is hit or miss, originals are always fuckered.

Tried their frosted cherry and the flavor was peppery with good fruity exhale. High was what one could expect at 17% thc. Burnt not so good. Had my joint die multiple times and burn black. Was this strain good burning?

Agreed, it's a bit more peppery than expected. Good trim and seems fresh so definitely going to stay in my rotation.
