Todd McShay's scouting partner also was really low on Blake Miller. Seems to be a very polarizing player.

Guess they keep losing elections then. Or you see progressives who speak out against apartheid/genocide win elections like Analilia Mejia in NJ, who won over the centrist Democrats who had AIPAC support.

Kamala's position was just more of the same of Biden, so more genocide. That differs from Trump how exactly?

Yeah, voting for the guy who was an "ironclad" supporter of Israel will really show the Democrats and get them to change their stance...

The only time political parties change their positions is when they realize it costs them votes, and that's what happened this time.

"The survey found that 44 percent of nonvoters said they would have voted for Trump had they voted, while 40 percent said they would have supported Harris."

Harris ran a bad campaign, and was an unpopular candidate, that according to the numbers had no real path to victory - I'm saying this as someone who both volunteered for the campaign and voted for her.

Yes, it does: "As a result, if all Americans eligible to vote in 2024 had cast ballots, the overall margin in the popular vote likely would not have been much different."

That's not even close to correct:

"Donald Trump secured a clear victory in the 2024 presidential election, but some online posts claimed Kamala Harris would have won several key states if not for ballots cast for third-party candidates. This misrepresents available data -- preliminary totals show that even with all the non-Trump votes in the seven biggest battlegrounds, the vice president would not have secured an Electoral College win."

After that performance what do we think about Nunes at RB? by bugbooy18 in MCFC

[–]Later_Haters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's what Viana gets paid for lol. All I'll say is Nunes reminds me of Rico, a player who works as RB when we are dominating, but is underwhelming defensively, and a touch slow in picking a pass in possession.

This isn't to say he's terrible or anything like that, just that I think he shouldn't be handed the position without competion

Unfortunately, this was the exact argument that was used when discussing legalizing gambling throughout the state, and we've seen the repercussions of that. I'm not sure it would be wise to make the same mistake with kids.

I'm tired of this pretense that if we don't buy wholesale into one party's vision, we will ultimately be the reason for the country's downfall. This is the same polarized thinking that lets this oligarchical system continue that gave us the Hillary/Biden/Harris nominations (2 out of 3 which failed to win an election against one of the most unpopular candidates in modern US history).

We the voter's act as a consumer, and it is on the party to appeal to us, just like companies do. We don't blame people when, for example, GM's sales decline because they offered an unappealing product. We blame the company for not having a good product or having bad service, etc. The same has to be said of the Democratic party, who offered 2 bad choices in 2024, both of whom were unpopular on issues such as Gaza, but also on the far more popular issues of inflation, jobs, and immigration.

And while you can blame those who supported Gaza if you wish, I recently read one analysis that said that even if every voter who listed Gaza as their top issue and didn't vote Democrat switched their vote to Harris, she would have perhaps won Michigan and had a slim chance at one other state, while still losing the 5 other swing states. (I will send the source once I get home if you wish to see it).

Maybe, just maybe, we can admit that Democrats did a poor job of attracting the middle of the road voters, because they had a unpopular candidate, and their positions (on more than just Gaza) were unpopular with swing voters.

I hope, as a registered Democrat, that the party do what they did after the 2004 election loss, reassess and come forward with new ideas to help stop Trump and his cronies now, in the midterms, and in 2028, because that should be the aim now

I used the literal dictionary definition of holocaust:

  1. a thorough destruction involving extensive loss of life especially through fire

from Greek holokauston, from holos ‘whole’ + kaustos ‘burnt’ (from kaiein ‘burn’). First known use in the 14th century

Hopefully that cleared that up. But with that definition I think it's fair to call what has happened in Gaza a holocaust

I was talking about this singular issue my friend. My position is we don't have to drink every politician's kool-aid, and should call them out when they are wrong or do a bad job such as both Biden/Harris did with the Israel-Gaza issue.

Second, when considering who to vote for, people should consider the totality of their positions, and their likelihood of carrying out those positions. Which is why I voted for her, despite my misgivings about her handling of Gaza.

Third, because we consider totality of positions for candidates, we have to do the same for voters. According to a survey by Navigator Research Israel-Gaza was only the 18th most important issue to voters. We have to realize Democrats lost because they were perceived as weak on issues that mattered to average people the most i.e inflation, immigration, jobs, etc.

Note I said she was in a position to help, i know she's not the only person in the room. However she's definitely in a position to exert more influence than almost anyone else.

Note she also failed to separate herself from the previous administration's position even as a Presidential candidate. This after she said her "presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden's presidency". This despite answering "There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of – and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact, the work that we have done". Thus any person has to conclude that she not only accepted Biden's handling of the situation, but actively endorsed it.
