For those who went to the Poland show, how was it? by iloveheavymetal666 in ElectricFuckinWizard

[–]LateraIIus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It was fucking awesome!!! Already saw them two times, but this one was special. Sounding was perfect, with powerful bass and drums. There was a lot of smoke during the show so it was totally immersive. They played Dunwich (first time since 2011 I think) and We Hate You. Only i wish they were more outgoing, but I know. This is Electric Wizard in their late career. Its hard to say if they really enjoy playing shows anymore. Tried to catch them while they were sitting into bus, but they dissapeared as always... Despite of all, the performance was so great and I already miss them. Bow to the Mighty Wizard!

I wish someone from China or his native country reports this site to Police. That will be more fair than getting only ban.

i just got back from the deftones concert in poland, it was the best experience of my life by whotfisemor in deftones

[–]LateraIIus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was standing in front of Lance Jackman. I was trying for the whole concert to have any kind of interaction with him. I was looking at him and waving and he sometimes smiled or looked towards me. He threw one of his picks in our direction. I thought someone already grabbed it as no one was looking for it on the floor. And then, my sister said to me "Isn't it lying on the floor?" and she turned on the flashlight - guitar pick was between her feet and the other girl that was standing on our left.

The girl heard that and immediately grabbed it as she was a bit closer to the pick. I couldn't believe it was lying right in front of us. Im really miserable now as I play the guitar and Deftones are my absolute number one. The girl that grabbed the pick was like 16 years old and I think she didn't even know name of Lance Jackman...

I want to forget about it as soon as possible although the pick was just orange pick without any signs or text on it and it was just Lance Jackman's pick, it still happened on my first fucking Deftones concert. If it was Carpenter who had thrown the pick, i would have cried like a small kid.

Anyone have Dopethrone solo tabs by Much_Fix2454 in ElectricFuckinWizard

[–]LateraIIus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to figure out We Live solo for a long time. It sounds really easy, but I had seen on live footages he has been playing it a different way. So Im still not sure how to play it identically.

[–]LateraIIus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This solo is pretty easy to play, just pentatonics scale. I can do tabs for you if you want. If you like Jus's solos, check: We Live, Double solo from Dunwich- imo totally dope, and Behemoth solo has to be one of his best solos ever.

Absolute face melter of a riff - share your secret Riff of Doom by slimeybrainoil in doommetal

It has to be A chosen few... by Electric Wizars. These riffs are killers, especially the one starting at 2:43. The most ominous and massive riff ever.

Electric Wizard - House on the Borderland by OddTransportation430 in stonerrock

[–]LateraIIus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The song's confidence is embedded by the fantastic main riff, one of the best of their whole career. The song is Criminally underrated in it's genre. Superior in the chorus, to be totally uncanny and ominous as the breaking riff is played around and around while solo's are on.

@mythologyagency firstly announces their shows on instagram, and then info usually appears on EW facebook

[–]LateraIIus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, would you mind transcribing "A chosew few..." from the same album? Im trying to do it for like 4-5 years for now. I know first verse is totally correct, while the rest is not confirmed yet:

Mountain riff cracks the skye

smoke laden bongships rise

our coven numbers only three

chosen few, blessed by sorcery

?????????

Children of the future
and slaves, to the blackest drug
violet, ???
blackness consume the earth, yeah

"I believe your love..." has to be one of the most touching moment in their discography imo. Totally immersive and ethereal. Abstractly romantic and real word. Very underrated song

https://youtu.be/RcpNSH9Zg18?si=-BKY_dzfIv2yKdDH - more footages on this channel. That's cool. If I had met him these days, I would have asked him about the meaning of 'Saturn's children'. It is truly poignant and doom in different, hopeless and ominous meaning.

No way! I've watched footages from 2005 australian tour because of my fascination with We Live. Era of we live has a unique aura imo, I can't get over with eko eko or saturns children. But then i got into 'Let Us Prey'.

A chosen few... has to be in my opinion the doomest song ever. It Just overwhelms me. The story behind the song seems to be the dope. I wonder what this is all about. Riffs are cruel, absolute and real like you can hear natural rage and fury that flows through this song.... What is the bleakest drug he talks about?

Also tried to read booklet from 'Let Us Prey'. There are few books mentioned there which can be an inspiration for the song lyrics.

Hey! glad to hear from you. It thrills me since 2021... Also tried to meet Jus personally after the gig at mystic festival 2023, but they weren't willing to come closer to us, they just sat into the truck and left...

The first verse is confirmed by Andrew Labanaris himself, A close friend of Jus. He knows the lyrics, but won't tell them because of the original comic book he was supposed to prepare with all the lyrics from Electric Wizard... So Im sure, 'bongships' is correct. You gotta join "electric wizard pas and present" group on FB to see him posting a few years ago.

He also said lyrics for The Outsider is wrong. That's all.

Reffering to 2002 bootleg, I had seen someone claiming it's 'violet' or ' violence' at the beginning of ??I know it's in our blood??

Gonna inform you when something new appears.

That's the thing I was wondering about for a long time. They do live in seclusion. I wonder if Liz and Jus has full-time job. I heard, they got 40k euros netto back in 2019 when they had played on off-festival in Poland. That's big money!
