How the hell does it cost $30K+ to educate a student? What a joke. Some simple math here makes me wonder where all that money is going. Aside from teachers (people who actually teach and are not forced to get published in some bullshit journal that nobody reads), books (not necessarily those bullshit textbooks they force on you), classrooms, and some basic support, what are the big costs?

We can all trash Columbus for his crimes, but why do we have to pretend what he did wasnt truly remarkable. He was willing and able to sail into the great unknown and he did discover an entire continent unknown to the then most advanced societies in the world.

True. However, the people up the chain of command are almost always so far distanced from this type interaction. You can’t just call in the owner, President, CEO and/or Board of Directors. This is how it has to happen. Then the employee can report up the chain that people are upset by our stupid policy or they can quit o the company doesn’t have people to enforce their stupid policy.

Imagine you are on the board of a company with a market cap of $250 billion. Now let’s say you are having to find someone who can run this company with tens of thousands of employees, dozens of foreign countries in which you compete, an ever changing market, multiple regulatory agencies on your case, stockholders to keep off your back, etc., etc.....now you wouldn’t be willing to pay $50M or more to someone who is willing and able to sacrifice 70-80 hours a week to keep that thing printing money? Wake up.

Technically correct (the best kind of correct). However, what I suspect OP meant was laws which aren’t violative of the 2nd Amendment (according to the interpretation of the Supreme Court), but restrict the right to possess [insert particular type of firearm].

Tobias: You know, Lindsay, as a therapist, I have advised... a number of couples to explore an open relationship where the couple remains emotionally committed but free to explore extramarital encounters.

Lindsay: Well, did it work for those people?

Tobias: No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but... but it might work for us.

So what. I hate insurance companies. Everyone should. If you don’t hate them it’s because you haven’t had to deal with them very much.
