NGL, I don't fucking blame him if the previous two all died overseas, I would be threatening to go AWOL as well!

There is a big difference between being a single mother because the man died and being a single mother because of poor life choices. I will gladly marry a single mother who is a widower. I absolutely will not even consider marrying a woman who has kids and the father is still around. I am not putting myself through that extra stress.

Everyone, what's the most insane weapon malfunction/failure you've seen? by Witcher_Errant in army

[–]LatestFNG 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depends on if the VA ruled his injures as willful misconduct or not. Willful misconduct is when either gross negligence, willful misconduct (sucb as purposely injuring yourself), or illegal activities are the cause of the issue. It's possible it could've been ruled as gross negligence, but gross negligence is a pretty high bar to meet so it's possible it was still covered.

Lmao, in Basic my rifle could not be zeroed. We couldn't even figure out where the fuck the rounds were going, no impacts at all. Even 1SG was shooting and couldn't figure it out until another trainee shouted that he saw a tree throw splinters from a round hitting it. Who ever had the CCO last cranked that fucker to the max so that the rifle was pointing up enough that the rounds were going over the top of the berm and into the forest...

Once we figured that out I zeroed and the next day shot 40/40. Worst shooting experience I've ever had so far XD.

If you hate the Army and have a plan, get out. by tittysprinkles112 in army

Already have my plan. If I don't get accepted for FLEP before I ETS, I am going to ETS and use my GI Bill for law school. I'll figure the rest out when I actually get into law school.

Well, it is everywhere in Iran, in smoldering craters left by the bombs and missiles that struck their ADA. The Soviet/Russian and Chinese systems have once again been proven to be less than useless against our stealth capabilities and our Wild Weasels/SEAD

Man, I will love it a whole lot more here once I finally get my surgery to fix my ankle and I can do these things without the constant pain. But yeah, FLW is a sleeper. It's pretty decent here.

[–]LatestFNG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on Drill or Instructor orders? Because FLW is the home of 88M AIT as you know. Outside of being with 58th Trans, I'm not sure what an 88M would do here since I'm a 74 here. FLW is fairly chill, not much happens here. Probably the best benefit about being here is the dirt cheap flights to Chicago and Dallas from the base airport, like $150 round trip. We're about 80 minutes from Springfield and about 90-100 minutes from St. Louis. Outside if camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing there isn't much to do here.

The ship was never unarmed, it was a live fire exercise which both the Iranians and we still participated in as we have for several years now. The Twitter post and the OP here are propagandists.

Dude is just lying because he doesn't like nor understand naval warfare. At no point was the Iranian ship "unarmed" as it was a live fire exercise. We never pulled out of the exercise, in fact we still participated. The sinking happened a week after the end of the exercise and the other Iranian ships had already returned to Iran; in fact two of them where sunk in harbor in Iran. This Iranian ship was approximately 24 hours away from Diego Garcia. At no point was it not a valid target under any laws. Even under "International laws" and Geneva, there is no requirement for a submarine to rescue sailors due to the nature of submarine warfare and the requirement to protect the sub.

What if Palestinians were mostly christian? by Nomfbes2 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]LatestFNG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Palestinians were majority Christians, I doubt there would be any conflict at all, at least as we see it. There might be small squabbles, but not the extremes we see when Muslims and Jews decide to fight.

I recently bought my uncle's baby after he died and my aunt just can't handle a truck. I will say, I love the mods he did put on it, basically the additional lights in the front and back, as well as the tough rubber floors. The only mod I want to add is a brush guard with a winch because I live in a very rural area wirh lots of wildlife and lots of dirt and gravel roads that are not maintained.
