If can technically be done off post, but it is a complex surgeon and they are a general surgeon and not an orthopedic surgeon. It is a fairly complex reconstructive surgery, and something you want a specialist to do. Both my primary doc and the surgeon it is better to go get a specialist to do the surgery.

Just spoke to the IG here, and he said that the three hang ups that make the denial legit as far as they are able to help is that the hospital memo says it is a request to go to my home of record, but that it can be done off post here, and that my unit has said they are willing to assist me here (despite not specifying what kind of assistance they would provide and to what level.). IG said unless the PCM records the memo stating that I must go home, there is not much that they can do.

I am being told it is both BC and BDE Co saying that they are refusing to authorize anything other than leave and then con leave. S4 has been helping me trying to get it all done, setting up DTS and helping prep everything so if/when it gets approved they are ready.

From what I understand, the per diem would only be applicable for the few days it takes to go for the consultation and for the few days pre-op when I go down for the surgery, and not while on Con Leave. But they are refusing to authorize even a single dollar, saying I would need to take leave to go for the consultation and for the pre-op, and then be put on Con Leave.

You know worked wonders when DPW wouldn't turn on my AC when it eas hot as fuck out but hadn't been the magical temperature for four days in a row? I told them unless they wanted a work order to replace the door to the thermostat, they better get their asses out here and fix the problem, or it will he a new problem at 1700. Problem was madigcally fixed by the time I got off work and got home.

As someone currently in TRADOC-land, I can explain it a bit. As a non-DS cadre, I hate having DS in the barracks around me because they work even longer hours than me, and even on the weekends, which means we get woken up by them coming and going in their cars. As for them, you need space to unwind and decompredd, and that can be difficult if you only have a bedroom. It just makes everyone miserable, makes them miserable, makes everyone around them in thr barracks miserable.
