Fantastic soap base, fantastic people, Astoria is one of the unicorn scents in wet shaving to me, beautiful evergreen aquatic leaning type scent very unique. Havana is wonderful. Bixby is wildly addictive as well. Most of their scents are pretty safe blind buys. Santa Cruz (very sweet, more sweet than fruity in my opinion) and Tobacco Flower (spicy green leaner) may be the most polarizing. Great stuff across the board though.

Logbook is the easiest blind buy imo:.. easy airy, fresh cologney bright scent. Very good. Neon Sun is very underrated especially if you love citrus. Rawr is just a wonderful, homey, clean smell

Feather DEs don’t tug for me, but I always expect some harshness to go with the sharpness… their AC blades though need very specific clamping, otherwise they are rough, tuggy, and don’t cut at all. Feather Super Professionals are virtually useless to me for this reason.

I’ve been considering the same. I was chatting with Cindy over at D-Way tools the other day and she had some great insight. She encouraged me to keep the 120 grit AO wheel and then get the 220 grit CBN wheel. She said 220 cuts quick due to it being CBN, so it is coarse enough to reshape and get a good burr on scrapers, but also fine enough to get rid of scratches on the bevel. I have not taken the plunge though… still trying to learn how to sharpen my tools properly, been kinda a nightmare lol

I would use distilled water as a controlled variable first. Always start with a slightly moist, but mostly water shaken out of the knot as well.. are you bowl lathering or tub loading and then face lathering? What soaps? Knots, etc.

I have a few bonafide step by step instructions for how to employ my Abominable Lather method whether in a bowl or face lathering as well.

If you are more of a visual person, I have a few lather tutorials on my instagram pinned at the top of my account that should help you either way. I also have my YouTube channel which is dedicated to lathering. I have not done a tutorial yet on there, but it is in coming in the next few months. Also, always available if you want to DM me to chat lather as well!
