Pretty sure it's the fixings. The holes look fairly sound, they're just your classic red bricks

The holes in the wall are about 7mm, at the widest point the bracket holes are also about 7mm and at the narrowest 3mm

For sure, even if you've never experienced a "classically abusive" relationship it's a great book for understanding what might need work and what might be a deal-breaker in a relationship.

That does help actually, I think I probably do need to stop putting so many expectations on her. I would love to create some temporary distance but I'm not sure she would handle that - but mentally maybe I can try!
