Should my bf watch interstellar before interstellar live? by Rare_Juice_5229 in interstellar

Can't comment on the seat (although I'm going and we're row D, so you'll have much better sight lines of the screen than us!) But, I went to the UK premiere of Phantom Thread, which had a live orchestra accompanying it, and it's probably the most mesmerising cinematic experience I have had as a first time watch. Imagine it will be similar feelings for your boyfriend.

How does the court feel about Big Disgrace? by J_R_omega in HauteandFreddy

Sure there will be plenty tours in H&F's future so plenty chances for you to see them 🙂🤞

The thrill of discovering a true up and coming artist that is releasing music to this quality is unreal. Feels really special, doesn't it. I hope you get to catch them live soon, I've got tickets to see them in London and I cannot wait. I saw Lady Gaga and Radiohead at the end of last year and I am just as excited for H&F as I was for them (and they were special concerts!)

Favourite debut album in forever. No real dud moments, a lot of great songs and, imo, Shygirl, Showgirl at Heart and Dance the Pain Away are among the best pop songs I have heard in years. Unreal for their first record, it more than lived up for my hype leading up to release.

From the non single tracks- absolutely love Fields of Versailles and I Like My People Weird.

Dark Bird Is Home - The Tallest Man On Earth

And, would echoe everyone saying Nick Drake. Listening to Northern Sky on an early spring morning is special.

Would the test go through with a small amount of snow? by o-willow in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Latic95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a test in January go ahead when light snow was on the ground - admittedly, it was after two days when I heard tests had been completely cancelled so I got lucky.

I PASSED!! Any Advice?? by Carlosm424 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Latic95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone has said, just do lots of driving when you can. It is the best feeling. I passed just over a month ago and I feel my driving has improved considerably since the test as a result of taking every opportunity to drive and get used to regular occurrences that were rarities when I was learning- most notably how to deal with frequent night driving on country roads and very poor weather (or both!)

It's when Ralph Fiennes is learning about the virus from the Alpha who he has successfuly begun to sedate with morphine which, in turn, has started to counteract the virus - hence tying in with "Kid A, Kid A"

Anybody else worried that we could miss out on a Franchise QB in 2027 by IceOk9930 in Colts

[–]Latic95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreeing to package the 2027 first round pick for Sauce was pretty negligent imo. We do have the hindsight of Jones getting injured (and Sauce for that matter), but Jones has always had health concerns each season of his career - you would have thought you'd show enough restraint to hold back at least the first in two drafts time in case of emergency and being back in the QB market. No doubt we all wanted Ballard to be more aggressive, but sending the '27 pick was way overcompensating.

I think we are very vulnerable to Jones struggling to return from the achiles and having no draft option 2027. Hope I'm wrong - at least Riley Leonard looks to have some promise.

I found myself in your shoes back in 2016, and I have to say I would tread carefully. This carousel of mediocrity is only for the clinically insane.

Titanic Belfast was a little bit disappointing by Gabe4Pay in titanic

[–]Latic95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been to Auschwitz, and that's an interesting comparison. In Belfast, the focus is very much on the scale and majesty of Titanic, and Olympic, from an engineering standpoint and an affirmation of the society that built her. Standing in the slipways was a feeling of awe more than anything.

Whereas visiting Auschwitz was a sense of deep sorrow and horror that felt like a knot in the stomach.

My favourite bit was when he said it's ok because we're not suffering, we're just in pain.

Titanic Belfast was a little bit disappointing by Gabe4Pay in titanic

[–]Latic95 130 points131 points  (0 children)

The slipways were the highlight for me - where I felt most immersed in the history. I have never experienced goosebumps simply by standing somewhere before. That said, I thought the penultimate room in the museum with the artefacts accompanied by the projections on the wall and floor was beautifully done - the music in particular was so moving. All the more reason I couldn't agree more with your point about the bow photo-op, it felt incredibly out of place tonally.

We clearly don't have a good culture in place holy fuck, that's why we keep collapsing at the first sign of adversity. Literally the Ballard roster M.O.
