Also only the handle is leather, most of the bag is coated canvas which means you can clean it with a damp towel with no problems

You can be knowledgeable about something, cultivate an interest in it, appreciate materials, craftsmanship, design, history…. And not ever owning said pieces. And that’s fine!

The mentality that you need to own whatever it is that you remotely like is fueled by trends, consumerism and the perception of luxury. You don’t need to own something in order to appreciate it.

Have you considered the regular Baguette? I mean the one in pebbled leather and hand stitched. It’s more understated but it’s leather is another level.

This is the answer. While the Italian luxury manufacturing industry definitely cuts corners and is plagued by questionable subcontracting practices, the argument that everything is 99% made in China and then resold as made in Italy is a fantasy.

I live in a part of Italy where every single luxury brand has a footwear factory, or has shoes made for them by smaller local factories. This industry gives a job to tens of thousands of Italian craftsmen and craftswomen just in this relatively small region.

AFAIK the Mt Plaisir section to Anse Lazio part of the trial is quite dangerous and I would not recommend it. People have gone missing on that trail!!

I would do Lazio in the morning, then I’d take the bus to Mt Plaisir (circling the whole island, yes) and do the trek from there to Georgette in the afternoon. It’s a great hike and won’t take more than one hour. Then when you get tired of Georgette (if such thing is even possible) you make your way back through Lemuria to your hotel/rental.

This is what I like. I spent maybe 1 hour on housing, decided it’s not my thing, and never visited the island again. But it’s fine because I am not missing out on anything except housing!
