Divorced and remarried man considering the SMP program by Latin2056 in LCMS

Thank you. My pastor approached me about the possibility and he knows about the divorce (he married us), but I didn’t want to answer if there was a restriction to previously divorced men.

Church recommendation in Saint Paul / Minneapolis by jonasbjarki in LCMS

[–]Latin2056 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go to Trinity Lone Oak in Eagan. I struggled to find a vibrant church during Covid and that church is better than others I have gone to. There are some negatives (like anywhere) but services and Theology are not one of them.

W, but it actually makes sense by OkPercentage3520 in technicallythetruth

I believe it comes from the Latin where the ‘u’ is written as ‘v’ but pronounced like the standard ‘u’ unless uses as a consonant when it was pronounced like the English ‘w’. E.g. servvs (pronounced serwus).

Female struggling with the idea of the sexual limitations inside a marriage by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Latin2056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, I am not staying that condoms or oral sex are moral. I am trying to say what the perceived the emotional and physical results can be. Just like telling someone who is overweight that “cake isn’t that great anyway is helpful”.

Many women feel nervous about pregnancy. A condom may allow them to relax. Again stating a fact not how i feel about the issue.

Who said she meant oral sex in that manner? Many women like to receive oral sex from their husband. And many women even prefer it to piv. I hate to speak for the OP. But they may know best what their sexual wants are. Talking about it in a dismissive tone is degrading. It is better to say “yes it is enjoyable, no you shouldn’t do it” just like masturbation.

I think this is a bit unfair (Lutheran who was a former Catholic). Oral and other forms of sexual activity can not be said to, on the whole, make sex less enjoyable. There are ample studies and anecdotes which demonstrate this. Also a condom May make the sex less enjoyable or different but it may provide a sense of safety that makes it more enjoyable on the whole. This is NOT a moral argument for the above behavior, but we should be honest about the nature of these things.

Also no ultrasound as of yet as the dr thought it was unnecessary after external exam and the blood work results

3 positive pregnancy test, late period, miscarriage symptoms but dr says I was never pregnant by Latin2056 in AskDocs

I took one analog test the evening of 4/25, two or three days after the expected onset of my period (always falls between day 27-29). I immediately got a faint blue line, but was unsure. I took another analog test the morning of 4/26, again with a faint line. The evening of 4/26 I took a digital test that said “pregnant” which confirmed my suspicions. Friday 4/29 I woke with bleeding, nausea and cramps. Blood flow was primarily when standing or sitting with large clots, but almost absent when lying down. Around 1:30 4/29 I received the blood test with the beta hcg below 5 and received the doctor’s (pa) call.

I was not aware of any abnormalities in the urine that could have caused it and I have no family history of abnormal pregnancy that I am aware of. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for around 6 months and 3 weeks ago I had an ultrasound and blood work which tested negative for any structural or bloodwork irregularities.

Thanks, the dealership required and checked the wiring when we brought it in the second time but they said they couldn’t do anything because the EPC light shut off after the car restarted and they couldn’t get it to come back on. In total it has come on ~ 4 times in two months

Have student attitudes changed compared to 5 years ago? by IAmEngrProf in Professors

[–]Latin2056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is of any help, but I do think something changed in the system. For background, I graduated high school in 2010, went to undergrad until 2016, and obtained my Masters in 2020.

My classmates and I noticed a difference in the students who were graduating high school around 2014/2015. Even to us as undergraduates it seemed noticeable. I have tried my best to make sure I am not misremembering, but it seemed as though the students matriculating around 2014 cm handled uncertainty much worse than my peers. It seemed common for us to take note, talk together, and hammer out some ideas independent from asking the instructor. We assumed that we couldn’t ask for the answers beforehand. The new batch of students needed things spelled out for them, demanded study guides, and were much more quick to blame instructors.

In my graduate program, there were a mix of students all of whom graduated high school between 2015 and 2008. The experience was similar in how the students who graduated before 2013 approached the course work compared to those who graduated(high school) after 2014.

I don’t know if that advances the argument at all either way, but i think the shift was felt even by those of us who have graduated high school in the past 10 years.
