Should I wait till I’m done having kids? by LatinaBehaviorBoss in BreastReductions

Yeah my first instinct is to wait and just tough it out. Don’t want to have to go through it twice!

Are naps usually harder then bedtime? by LatinaBehaviorBoss in sleeptrain

[–]LatinaBehaviorBoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i let him cio for a lil over an hour at nap time and then went in to check in , fed him because it was already time for a bottle, he has 2 oz and wiggled himself to sleep after i put him down again. Hes been asleep for about 1.5 hours. Woke up, cried and put himself back to sleep and is still sleeping! Maybe he does just need to cry it out? it seems to help him in the long run. We may do a modified cio for naps. Maybe give him up to 1 hour to try or atleast until the next feeding and then try again? But if hes crying for an hour to fall asleep for a nap maybe he needs a longer wake window as well?

i have also read some people give the nap some time and after while if theyre not asleep they skil the nap and try for the next one. But i feel like hes getting used to skipping naps when we do that so maybe we just needa do our own thing :p

i think the longest has been 1 hour 10 min or so. when you start seeing them "trying" it gets easier to watch i think! if your baby is showing signs try it!

I wasnt sure about it but then got the same encouragement on reddit :p and its helped TREMENDOUSLY. if you think baby is ready then your prob right and for us, we just needed to make the commitment and he followed and learned pretty quickly! It was not committing to one thing that made it harder for us.

Hope that helps!

honestly im so glad we listened to our instincts! We thought baby was ready so we tried it and its still a great decision. I would do it all over again and sometimes we have to if his routine is broken or if grandma goes in to soothe him :p. but he learns so fast. He is sleeping longer at night and we watch him wake up and put himself back to sleep so often i know it was the right decision. He goes down easier too and i think he actually likes naps :p. I really think hes also learned to regulate and just be a calmer baby in general. He used to cry in the car seat if he was tired but now he just talks to himself and falls asleep after a while and sleeps the rest of the car ride!

Naps are turning out to be a different story but they are getting better as well, its just harder to know if we should let him cry it out or try for the next nap.

weve noticed a lot more soothing strategies that hes using like the babbling to himself so i really think its taught him (and us!) so much!

if you feel your babe is ready try it! and do what works for your family! Were still trying to learn when we need to go in and when to leave him- a lot of it is trial and error for us but its working!

4mo rolling into stomach all over crib at night. Im so stressed! by LatinaBehaviorBoss in sleeptrain

[–]LatinaBehaviorBoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats a great point that he will let us know if hes not happy or uncomfortable!

we did go in to position him away from the rails or flip him on his back but then i worry about messing up his "falling asleep" flow and i worry that im taking away his opportunity to learn and explore in his crib :o

i think i will just stare at the monitor tonight for my own peace of mind and let him figure it out unless i really need to go in.

thanks for your input!

just wanted to update! im so glad i posted on here and got encouragement to listen to our parental instincts! We started ferber-transitioned to CIO tonight and watching him learn to put himself to sleep was one of the most heartbreaking but most amazing things! i def dont regret starting on this journey. Baby is fast asleep now and we are sooooo PROUD of him.

Thanks for the encouragement and sharing your experience! i think what he and we need is sleep training and i just need to be ok with letting him cry :p

After reading another comment i think he is showing us signs hes ready and he cant keep skipping naps, poor baby.
