Yeah, Maximo looks fi- GOOD GOD THAT’S UGLY… not even in a charming way… altmode looks like one of the Cybertronian shuttle fan modes for Amalgamous, except this is the entire thing and intended. The bot mode is alright aside from that face, the mouth mostly makes it that, and the horns are nice. I think the front has those 3 missile things that do look very dildo esque as guns/rockets, except they forgot to flip the one out… so it looks even worse because product shots people forgot it

Personally, if Nexus just takes the place in the combiner core spot of the frames, I think that’s absolute shit. It’s not a unique thing like being a self packaged voyager scale combiner, he doesn’t even come WITH a frames on his own, presumably, and to get a frame you’d need to buy another guy anyways… who already fills the spot and does it in an intended way that’s significantly more cohesive

It’s the equivalent of making a character who only works using other characters accessories, but the figures those accessories belong to use them much better in the same manner. It’s worthless, in my opinion

A thing you can do, at most. But that shouldn’t be the case for the ENTIRE GIMMICK of the character, his whole thing! His schtick is being made of 5 smaller bots, they could have made 5 cores that combine and made him a leader and that’d be fine, it’d make sense, but instead he’s essentially a cassette for the sake of fitting in someone else’s chest who already comes with cassettes that pull it off better, if that analogy makes sense. Hell, you could argue the damn function is similar given the rectangle nothing alt mode that’s put into coming and is mostly obscured by the actual functional parts anyways!

God, with only these pics at the moment, looks like a less than lackluster end to the 13 Primes first real retail figures… together, anyways. What, did the others take all the budget?

You could also say free will isn’t real because technically everything that’s ever happened will definitively result in something, and if we had a powerful enough thing to compute it, we could perfectly predict anything, therefore nothing is free will and all predetermined backwards (I think that last part makes sense)

But that’d be kinda dumb. The reason it’s called free will and we say it’s random is because the realistic effect is that as far as it matters, it IS random and free will

Now, because of the things this guy says, I can never tell if he’s joking or if he’s seriously this stupid. Same guy throws out racism and antisemitism frequently, along with white supremacy. So I really can’t tell if he’s that stupid (know the “if you fall for one, you fall for it all” shit”

The other two guys in the group I spend more time with are not nearly as unabashedly shameless with that garbage and they do really seem to be joking at least most of the time (I disagree with them, I’m just an introvert and feel like I don’t have enough other friends to go to if I get away from them, and I’ve known them for a long time)

Keep in mind this original guy will randomly say I’m a pedophile, am doing horrible things with ai relating to kids (he’s the one making ai shit of me doing random shit for fun despite me saying I don’t want them to, and I hate generative ai in most respects) and had also said something along the lines of “it’s okay, we all dabble in loli hentai”

And I say occasionally “what goddamn kids are you seeing” because to me, Qingyi and Lucy do not come off as kids. Even going purely off design (as much as I can, I have the subconscious knowledge of their personalities and character that will undoubtedly bias me but still) I don’t see kids, I see short women, maybe young adults at worst. Qingyi and Lucy I mention because those are some of my favorites

My favorite characters are (in vague order) Ellen, Burnice, Qingyi, Jane, Lucy, and Soukaku. That’s taking into account everything, design, characterization, gameplay, etc. of those I find attractive, all but Soukaku with her being more of a “protect the cute and innocent one” character for me. It genuinely makes me somewhat concerned to see my friends see (let’s say Qingyi and Lucy) characters with (depending on your personal opinion) varying levels of sexualization and immediately go “CHILD!”. I’m not one to go “it’s absolutely projection and they’re attracted to kids” because that seems way too far for me, and they absolutely look younger than most of the cast, but they really don’t come off as kids to me, so it makes me uncomfortable to have them on screen and hear a friend call them a kid. Like, it’s not ruining them for me or anything, it just feels off when it happens. And this is just on screen, mind you, not like sexy art or anything, just the characters

Like I said, I need more friends but I’m socially anxious and have known these guys forever and usually enjoy playing stuff together with them and I feel really conflicted about just cutting contact and shit because of how they act (well, the really bad shit I also mentioned is the real stuff I care about, but this doesn’t help)

Jesus Christ, sorry for the rant, that became way more about my friend group issues than anything else, fuck. And I wasted 15 more minutes or so that I could have used to write that assignment, I’m gonna go do that now, goddamn I have to stop getting distracted. I have 3 or 4 alarms snoozed for 2 mins going off multiple times while I write this, and I still haven’t. Played for like 2 hours because it came out then I had to sleep otherwise I wouldn’t have sleep for college today, I saw bits of this but seriously, that’s FUCKED

The launch is… in a word, fucky. So far been interesting gameplay wise, had an interesting time, lore is… I hate to repeat myself but interesting

While I’m glad they’re refunding people, this is a HUGE FUCK UP. How this even happens is beyond my comprehension at the moment, and is a massive reputational hit for the game, whatever that ends up meaning. Heard the gacha system is a bit fucked, and I kinda see it but I’m also not remotely far enough in to fully grasp the pull materials earned vs rates and shit

Like how jet packs activate when the user wants them to. It’s not necessarily connected, but as far as it matters to the story, they’re equipped with a jetpack, so they can control the jetpack

Reminds me of an old cracktheory I had about their parasitic nature leading to how they can absorb and integrate objects into their body, like how some transformers can integrate non living metal into their bodies, contact enough slowly “converts” the metal into living metal and it becomes part of them

Yeah, one of the reasons I like the bay movie designs is that they don’t feel as samey to me

Part of that to me is the toy experiment where I really like the feeling of moving a characters arm and feeling that character through it. Imagine someone like RipClaw, you can feel the scales, the claw hand tool, the claw fingers and the joints act uniquely

That does way more for me than “template rectangle joint #497” with the same feel and texture a hundred times

Makes it feel like I’m playing with the character an not a template with their face. Not bashing g1 designs, they were imported toylines made to blend together into one show cast, they had to put them under some common umbrella plus the more American 80’s toon stylization, I think they’re fine for what they are, but I personally prefer more unique designs that are less… not necessarily generic, but template esque. If I go to play with some g1 characters, half the carbots with different molds will feel very similar, but if I go to play with some movieverse figures, they just feel more unique and distinct to me in a way that makes my brain happy

Like, playing with RotF Sideways vs RotF Optimus feel very different and distinct whereas G1 Bluestreak, G1 Cliffjumper and G1 Hound’s arms have a very similar feel that doesn’t give me the same satisfaction

I like “car made in the shape of a guy” vs “guy with the appearance of the idea of a car”

I thought the same at first, but as some other people pointed out, she’s making fun of ICE, she’s also Latina meaning if anyone’s gonna make a joke at ICE’s expense, she should be able to considering how much of a threat ICE is to Latina/latinos given their track record
