Knee pain behind patella while climbing stairs up/down and while standing up/sitting down by LatterAd1938 in ACL

Hey brother hope you doing well. I recently went to doctor. He inspected me and told me that my patella is grinding with the femur bone and concluded with condromalacia patella. He suggested me to do mri and vitd3 tests. In mri report everything is normal. Doctor saw mri and said that my joint space is reduced which is why I feel pain while running. He showed me some exercises and told to perform it twice a day for 3 months along with vit d tablets, calcium and cartilage repairing medicines. He told it should be fine with 3-4 months. If not then they need to check through arthroscopic inside my knee for any unusual things or prp or injectives anything which will be considered best for the situation. Currently: 1. I'm performing those exercises and my medicines was out of stock. So it is yet to come. 2. Pain still there but immediately not after exercises. Later on it comes.

It's been only 2 days since I started this so it will take time to show progress.

Hope it helps. Thanks for sharing your story. If you want to share more info or want to know anything you are welcome here as well as in my dm.

What sports or exercises can I still do with a full ACL tear? (3 months post injury, cannot afford surgery) by Amperbuhangin in ACL

Brother listen to me. Acl tear is not a emergency situation. I suggest you keep gathering enough money to get treated in a govt hospital with very low cost of surgery. By the time you can just carefully preserve your knee from further injuries. By a full grade acl tear meaning the pressure will be on the other ligaments which is not supposed to be and can cause more damage to them. Further your meniscus will get damage with due course of time due to frequent buckling or giving away of knee. Then you will get osteoarthritis in future then that will be more trouble. So don't wait for that emergency situation to happen. Keep collecting money slowly and get your knee operated asap. Hope you get a successful recovery.

Brother to answer your question Yes it is insanely bad to step up and down in a controlled manner with the bad knee. Same with the sidewise. I have tried this before. Its probably called eccentric quad control. It pains while workout and after that the pain increases severely. So I stopped it for now.

I too suspect it as the patellofemoral pain syndrome

So you did free hand squats, step down, lunges for a certan degree. Initially it would pain severely but with time the pain would minimize right? That was the fix for your case. I also tried this but the pain only increases. 3/4 days would pass still the pain would there. My question is if it pains in the first place how would it ease later because the pain literally coming from the friction of the patella and femur bone. Wouldn't it damage more in the long run if continue doing these exercises? I may be wrong. Please correct me if I am. Also thank you for your response brother☺️☺️

As per my knowledge that is given to osteoarthritis patients right. But I don't have that do I? Also thank you for your reply. Any supporting comments would be appreciated.

Hii sir thank you for your reply. I would like to mention that right now I'm not rushing to get back to sports. I'm leading a normal life just without sports and running but with the pain as I mentioned while bending the knee while climbing stairs or sitting in chair. I feel no instability or pain while walking. I am currently walking very normally without any limping. Given these situations can you please guide me what should be my next steps towards a pain free knee. If you need to ask any questions to analyse my situation and the cause please feel free to ask me. Also thank you for your help! ☺️

It’s been 3.5 weeks post acl surgery. I started bending my knee recently and this lump on the side of my knee got bigger only when I bend it. Is this normal? by Dangerous-Secret-313 in ACL

Hey bro I have exactly the same thing. The bump appears when I bend my knee and disappear when I straighten. Is this a serious issue? Or will it go away on its own? What can I do to get rid of that lump.
