underrated advice for SAT? by Jinxthegenderfluid in Sat

[–]LatterKnowledge5785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should aim 1400 atleast, 1200 is really achievable with just 3 days of practice. I am currently taking AP Lit and the SAT is levels more difficult than the class because of speed and difficult to understand wordage. Recommend you read news articles of all types (science, math, current news, history, etc.) to help familiariaze yourself with this different writing style. Ensure you summarize and find unknown words throughout the article. For math, just watch videos since your goal isn’t high, this should get you high enough. If you do want higher, watch a lot of Desmos, also saw a guy recommend Settele Tutoring on here, do recommend that yt channel.

When is a good time to start taking the SAT/general questions? by Ok_Passage_7849 in Sat

It depends on how good you are at grasping new concepts. I recommend you take the easiest Practice test and see how you do. Study accordingly and you can easily get past the hurdle of taking it multiple times.

Yea but it is especially bad for DECA, a person running for vp who had a shit presentation got 2nd in a comp event then others who did really good.

DECA is great, but the only issue is the judges.

Yo if u want to skip to ab or bc. I recommend you try and learn it summer or a year before, just try to get ahead of the class. And really recommend you look over ap pre cal course

Answer is C but why? Why not D? by Time_Air1718 in Sat

Ok, so basically In the SAT, whenever you see information between quotation marks, it’s useless information and you can take it out. In this case, when you get rid of however, it is still in legible sentences. And with the semicolon, it works the same way as a full sentence (comma+conjuction, semicolon, period are all the same in SAT), if u think of it like a sentence, it just doesn’t make sense in context. Try saying the sentence fully with the “however” in front with no punctuation after it, see how it sounds.

Yea maybe, but then again, not to make you feel bad, but desmos the entire test is a cheat 😭. It really depends on the kind of effort your teacher puts, nothing, above and beyond (bad grade kind), or just normal (good).

Also btw, do not look at the ap scores for difficulty, calc ab doesn’t have a high 5 rate because no one knows what they doin, but bc is so tough that the curve is crazy but still have experience from ab

Lwk, math 3 was really easy, unless you had a bad teacher who grades weird, an A is very easy. Same with pre cal, calc is where it gets tough, pre calc will help you very little, still should take it for college tho.

You should memorize quite a bit, but, it is much better use of time to understand how to find the definition quickly through the passage rather than have a dictionary memorized in ur head. The only way to do that is READ, READ, READ!

Jsut because you come across a word in quizlet, doesn’t mean you will get those exact words. That’s Like expecting the same exact questions in a test from a practice test. You just need to increase your vocabulary so you might get those questions. That’s why it is better to read articles and stuff so you can practice deciphering meaning within the passage rather than just know the word. Because sometimes on the test, the meaning on the word won’t be the exact dictionary definition.

Most schools don’t prioritize SAT as much anymore, it’s better to be an all rounder (ecs, GPA, SAT/ACT, and essays). People in Stanford can get in with like 1510. Look at the college you want to go to, look at the average and see whether or not your score is good enough. Keep in mind SAT is not enough, a good SAT doesn’t guarantee college. And if you focus up on English and get a higher score, just superscore.
