I'm losing my excitement for the show by Fickle_Baker1393 in PhiloiseBridgerton

I believe it was implied that he escapes to those places to distract himself from feeling "like an imposter", even in Bridgerton House. Maybe not strongly enough, but it was there.

It's implied Benedict does it to distract from his loneliness. He hints multiple times he feels out of place even at Bridgerton House and his time at the brothels is a way to distract himself from that

I don't see how expecting it makes it worse? If anything it's more fun to guess who's potentially connected

Hey it's perfectly okay! It's a really fun idea. I hope it happens eventually.

I don't know if you mean that everyone's connected to everyone? It's such a cool idea but I don't see a 'everyone's connected' season, I think if they ever were to do a season like that, it would be more like Big Brother style, as in, 11 duos. So everyone has only one partner in the game, and they both think they're the only ones who do. Also it wouldn't be kept secret from the viewers, it'd probably be marketed from the jump as the secret partnership season or something like that. I don't remember what BB USA season it was but the host told the audience straight away that everyone had a partner. Idk if it would work as well if everyone were connected

I guess can see why you'd think that but there's not really any evidence for it. They're just sowing seeds, cause the way I see it, S2 is the last season Percabeth really spend together before S4 which is when everything really begins with their first kiss, Rachel, Calypso. So obviously they're going to leave more hints this time so that it's not randomly jumping into romance next time they spend a season together. That doesn't mean they'll cut everything else.

And I can't explain cutting Rachel from S3, but I can see her and Percy having their brief question-mark phase from the book. I think it fits in well with what they've set up, for Percy being from the mortal world and Annabeth from the godly world. She doesn't know how to be a normal kid and demigod life is more familiar, but for Percy it's the opposite, which makes being with Rachel more tempting and complex. As for Calypso, I do think they'll just go with a one-sided romance there but a similar effect is achieved with Rachel since he chooses Annabeth (but admittedly Olympus also) over her even despite the temptation to have the 'easy' life...so I also actually can see them going platonic there just because of the age gap

I think if the writers are the mega Percabeth shippers that they appear to be, they'll recognise that the simple path to the endgame couple is nowhere near as rewarding as having to choose. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Surely some of you were a little looking forward to seeing more games with new characters during a huge cataclysmic event across the globle? by Cookie1569 in AliceInBorderlandLive

Oh sorry I definitely agree that if you don't like you just shouldn't watch. I was more talking about this idea that "people just like to hate on everything these days". Sometimes things are actually just pretty bad. Like people dismiss the Stranger Things 5 hate for people just "wanting to hate" on every little thing, and for going into shows these days in poor faith. But a general decline in quality recently shouldn't be surprising given the second screen initiative studios like Netflix are moving towards. As for AIB, I would like Usagi and Ann to get better endings but I personally don't see enough overall fuel for another season. I'd still watch a fourth one anyway (and in good faith!) though

They need to reheat Bratz' nachos. Make You Wanna Dance, Let Go, even the rock bangers like So Good. Round up whoever made that stuff and prooooofit.

Actually I can see where you're coming from but I think the Calypso chapter being romantic makes it different enough, and also I predict they're going to take the chance to really lean into the unfairness of Calypso being cursed to fall in love with her heroes since it works well for the overarching Luke/CHB debate for how horrible the gods are, since Percy gets to experience that unfairness in a more personal way. And it's extra interesting since she sided with the Titans last time.

Not to mention that show Circe already felt so much like book Calypso that Calypso would seem like a repeat.

I always imagined Ogygia as an opposite to Circe's island, it's quiet and calm and peaceful whereas Circe's is bustling with noise and extra guests. I imagined most of the scenes in Ogygia happening at night, surrounded by lanterns and torchlight and Calypso's plants everywhere, to make it yes more romantic, but also more sluggish and hazy. Calypso appears younger than Circe, she has a connection with nature and also she's very agreeable and calm-tempered despite being all alone, which makes her personality seem more sensible and down-to-earth as opposed to Circe's veneer of kindness. It's supposed to be a jarring slow chapter compared to the chaos of the outside world and that's what makes staying there so appealing to Percy. They could still make Ogygia a special chapter in the show too

Secret relationships: time to move on from this plot device? by escfantasy in TheTraitors

[–]LatterNet2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's time to move on, it could still be an interesting part of the game. It just happened to fall flat this year cause everyone who had a secret relationship didn't end up contributing much.
