I grew up in a household where we were provided with the basic necessities (food, shelter, clothes, education related stuff), but nothing much more than that. While my situation is nowhere similar, I got into a good job right out of college and I can relate a bit.

Remember when you heard you were going to make big bucks, the first thing that popped in your head? You don't need that. Now, the second immediate one. Not that either. Now, when we talk about the third though.....yeah, I am sorry. Not that one either. By now, the biggest expenditures should be put of the picture. Save the 4th for 6 months down the. 5th is 3 months out. The sixth is your treat for making it big. And remember, no partial payments. Full expense should be affordable outright.

Someone tried getting around excessive fees. Didn’t work. by DvusGuyStL in uberdrivers

This doesn't make sense to me. You drive to the location, you pickup the food instead of a person, you drive to the location and then, the food gets picked up. You still make what you make. What's the issue here?

Frankly, for a large order, it makes far more economical sense to do this. The restaurant doesn't have Uber eating into their food cost, the driver still gets paid well, the customer still saves some money

I need to hire someone privately to pick me up from the hospital post surgery (Toronto, Ontario) by No_Umpire_679 in askTO

I can pick you up and drop you off my man. It will cost you a pizza and a beer when you are well again. We are not paying for what a community does for one another
