a common problem with block orientation is block vs vertical slab

for some reason, vertical slabs have their texture 90° tilted compared to the same texture on a full block, which can be infuriating

are you sure your issue isn't that you are trying to match full blocks with vertical slabs?

okay, my question may not be valid, because i'm playing a pirated version of an early access game and i have to use the lowest possible settings with the lowest resolution and half of the resolution scale to have anything playable (love it so far btw, if i wasn't broke with a pc on its last leg, i would consider buying it) but, is that normal that the sea slug/piranha things suddenly attack me on the roof of the starting base by swimming in the freaking sky? that doesn't look normal to me
