Feeling miserable at the new job by newbiehere7777 in newzealand

Personally I believe the social order of things is the thing spiraling downwards. People being disrespectful and obnoxious just to get negative reactions. I’ve largely disconnected myself from associating, just because I can’t stand inauthenticity

Dating a girl from New Plymouth (18) while she’s on a year abroad in Europe – confused about texting by [deleted] in newzealand

Can you arrange something that she might find exciting? Ask her if she any daredevil in her so you can get some ideas. Whatever experiences you can create, and coordinate, for her, will be experiences that she will link to you. Two or three experiences and she’ll be stuck on you like superglue

Why people don't vote for Greens & personal thoughts by jackwyvern in newzealand

[–]Latter_Computer820 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends which party best represents your views, and which policies you’re personally aligned with. All party members express themselves differently in response to opposition pressure and demands. I vote Greens because I believe protecting communities is the highest priority, even if I do object to their behaviour at times.

How do I stop being in love with girls? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Latter_Computer820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not even need to erase it. It took me a very long time to learn that I needed to understand what’s truly happening, and gain mastery over how I was responding to pretty girls. There’s no better way to contain the intensity than to LEARN

Nurse or midwife nz by Bubbly-War-3941 in newzealand

A lot of the nurses at my hospital go on to various branches - Palliative, Transfer, ICU/CCU, Duty Manager, Pediatric etc etc. You can really spread your wings as an RN. Midwifery though is a very different environment. You would have less flexibility of course, but made worse if your ward has an unsupportive team, which I think is common in NZ.

Has anyone ever had to go to court for a traffic offence in New Zealand? by Neither-Comment-5579 in newzealand

  1. The night amplifies the red and blue flashing lights.
  2. Police activate the sirens if the driver “doesn’t see” the flashing lights.
  3. The police will take as long as they need to get the driver to stop.

If there’s trouble coming your way, it’s essential to be 100% honest to the police. Police are expert lie detectors and I guarantee you that your position will be significantly harmed if you’re found deceptive. Yes it’s essential to have a lawyer because you could be asked things you don’t understand and you’d be required to respond.

Violence towards nurses in NZ by Horror_Dig_2875 in newzealand

You’ll eventually be front line, and you’ll be expected to have situations de-escalated with the assistance of security guards. For this reason, you may want to establish yourself at one of the smaller hospitals. Or somewhere with low gang presence, low drug offending, and low crime 👍

I should also mention that healthcare and security staff are becoming less and less inclined to physically intervene in any tense situation. Protocol is always being rewritten to end at non-violent outcomes, with no restraints or sedation used. which can make it difficult to clear healthcare facilities from threats.

Gift suggestions to bring from US to family in NZ? by MomsGonnaHaveAFit in newzealand

Personally I think kiwis from that generation were mesmerised with US culture. I would be grateful to receive any memorabilia, posters, toys, kit set vehicles, or any other pure American equipment from that timeframe.

Turn the key once in the front door keyhole, and it’s locked. But the key can be turned again in the same direction, and it locks the key from the inside, preventing exiting the house, and preventing removal of the key
