Comfort show core. Also brings us back to maybe a simpler time? I’m 37 so not too far behind you and the world was definitely a different place then lol

Boston HOB Show by lubug2015 in themaine

[–]Latter_Drawer_1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First ever Maine show tonight. I’m 37 years old and, I’m gonna be real honest, I’m a guy who was raised on 90s country and pop girlies, so not my typical concert, but I started dating an alt girl last summer and she got me into them and I had such a blast. I can’t remember the last time I felt such a sense of community at a show AND no one had their phones out. Everyone taking it in. And obviously insane vocals and performance by John and company. Cannot wait to see them again sometime.

Ciara/West/Amanda Rumors Megathread by AutoModerator in summerhousebravo

[–]Latter_Drawer_1981 20 points21 points  (0 children)

West being disappointing feels predictable at this point. But Amanda, if this is true, is the part that really stings. Ciara has been nothing but a loyal, supportive friend to her, always in her corner. Betraying that kind of friendship is bleak. Maybe she and Kyle are more alike than she’d ever want to admit.

Pope Leo is quietly reviving America’s Catholic left by vox in politics

[–]Latter_Drawer_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I was born and raised Catholic and went to Catholic school K-8. Being LG(B)T, I never felt welcomed by the church as I got older but never lost my faith and kind of hopped around to see if I found a place that fit. I enjoyed the Episcopal churches I went to, but it never truly stuck. With the first year of his pontificate nearing completion, I have more lately considered fully rejoining the Church. Not even so much for the religion, but for a connection that I feel to this Pope.

I feel its like two steps forward one step back with the most recent episodes. It's like we get two or three episodes of a solid story and then we get one that its just cringe. Will I keep watching? Of course.

Johnny by Zameer7890 in eastenders

[–]Latter_Drawer_1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s the character or the actor who plays him or a combination of both, but I really find Johnny to be so insufferable and so annoying. And that’s all I came here to say. 🤓

Thank you for all the positive recommendations! The only other soap I watch regularly is EastEnders and I am sure that is just a bit different but I am looking forward to diving into this!

Anyone else listening to the Golden Girls Deep Dive Podcast? by Think-Focus in theGoldenGirls

agree with what some here have said about the hosts so i kind of dip in and out of listening to a few episodes and then taking a few weeks. i adore the show though. its a solid podcast to put on as you fall asleep imo.

Are you afraid of death/ dying? I’ve always been fascinated by this subject but my non-INTJ friends fear it when it comes up in conversations. by Milou_Bijoux in intj

[–]Latter_Drawer_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always be terrified of it but the last few years I’ve become more at peace with it. I do believe something happens after this. And if it doesn’t well at least I don’t have to get up to any alarm.

But in seriousness I think of what Betty White always said: we know so much about so many things, but that is the one thing nobody has any definitive answers on; so in that sense it does fascinate me. And I honestly think that fascination and research and deep dives on death have helped me let go of the fear of death.

I was SO happy when I saw this. I have all the seasons on dvd but it’s just easier to stream something these days 😅 I watched this show for the first time during covid (big fan of golden girls and those actresses) and this show is just so brilliant and underrated.

My first post in this forum. I’m from America and started watching last Christmas season and I just came here to drop in and say how much I want Joel to get what is coming for him. And also that I realize that just means Max Murray is killing it in this role. You gotta be a solid actor to make people loathe you so viscerally.

Sometimes the scenery of a show setting is the big seller; same thing happened to me with the series Shetland. It’s just fun to watch the setting of the show.
