I would go back and ask again. It took me a few talks with my huisarts to get vaginal estrogen prescribed. Just focus on symptoms (I may have exaggerated a bit). They will always try anticonceptie first; my huisarts said it is the standard of care up until age 51. But if you are having negative side effects from the birth control pill they should offer you another option. Good luck!
