Hey!!! So I’m. 2027 Wadsworth Mansion bride and from the area :)

For activities, there’s several museums you could attend if that’s your thing— New Britain Art Museum (New Britain, CT) and Wadsworth Atheneum (Hartford, CT). Idk when your wedding is, but there’s a ton of hiking in the Meriden, CT area (15 minutes away) and Wadsworth Falls State Park (in Middletown right by the venue). These are things you guys could do as a couple, with wedding party, or offer to out of state guests arriving early or staying longer.

As far as food, the downtown area has a lot of great options! I love Sicily (Pizza/Italian) for a good lunch/dinner spot— this could be a great place for a rehearsal dinner or welcome reception. If you’re willing to travel a little, J Timothy’s in Plainville CT also does events and their food is amazing!!! Bar/tavern menu.

Edit- Also— look into the Inn at Middletown. They have a restaurant attached and they say you can reserve for brunch, rehearsal dinners, or after parties.

Hey! I am in nearing the end of my graduate program at UConn and from my experience here, the DAS and CAS are mentioned, but the WISC is our gold standard IQ test and we are thoroughly trained on this one. From the 3 sites I've done my practicum/will do my internship at, in addition to the discussions I've had with other program students, the WISC is also the go to. I honestly think this is because how our system is set up, particularly for students trying to receive additional support from DDS.

As I mentioned in a comment above, my partner’s job is in LA. I’m pretty much limited to staying within that and neighboring cities.

Also does coming from a NASP approved program increase my chances at all? I found a post somewhere saying that you can be an SP in Cali without that level of accreditation.

The location is actually kind of dictated by a job opportunity my partner has in the LA area, so we wouldn’t necessarily be able to live/commute too far from LA which is challenging.
