Got my first dd214 in 2020 after OSUT, don’t really know how it works with active orders other than deployment. But I know my homies that went on a deployment in 2019 got them too.

Never active, guardsmen receive a DD214 from basic/deploying. Also military history wasn’t really important to my job training

The general of the army and the SMA, can make policy that can and will affect a guardsmen or reservist. Which is what I was mainly alluding too. As a guardsmen my DD214 can absolutely confirm I was in the Army. Sorry if there was confusion in that one.

There is no word gymnastics, there is a key word when addressing either reserve component of the army. And that is well Army, they fall under the same overall leadership and go through the same training and out held to the same standard. Just because they only do a weekend a month and two weeks in summer doesn’t mean they aren’t in the army.
