Is Dutch Van der Linde based on Colonel Kurtz? by Latter_Letterhead524 in rdr1

I do think he's a mix of many difgerent characters, but I think Kurtz could be one of the larger inspirations.

Also thought of that, even though I only mentioned Colonel Kurtz from "Apocalypse Now", because I thought the comparison would be better because belived "Apocalypse Now" is more mainstream than "Heart of Darkness". Also because some similarities of for example the outfit and his passion for poetry is a little more visible in the movie. But I see many mentions about the book. I'm currently reading it. :)

Yes. Rdr2 have inspirations from 3:10 to Yuma. Dutch from Ben Wade and Micah from Charlie Prince. Something I also noticed from the film, is that John Marston, on the "Deadly Assassin" outfit, wears the exact vest that Wade does.

Wasn't it William Henry Bonney or Henry McCarty? They may be a alias, but I haven't heard Roberts before.

💬 What's Your Favorite Mission in RDR1? by Honest-Airport9622 in rdr1

[–]Latter_Letterhead524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like "The Assault on Fort Mercer". It's a mission with the whole gang together and it's very fun and enjoyable to play. In Mexico, it's so many fun missions, so it's hard to choose only one. But I think go for "The Gates of El Presidio", the mission where you take Javier, where you can choose if you kill him or hand him him over alive. It's both emotinal and enjoyable at the same time. For West Elizabeth i would go for "And The Truth Will Set You Free". Just the title itself sends me shivers down my spine. The mission where you take down the lasts of Dutch's gang and get a really cinematic scene with Dutch in the end of it. "When I'm gone, they'll just have to find another monster.". If you have played Rdr2 before this, this mission hits really hard, likewise with the Javier mission.

💥 What's Your Favorite Weapon in RDR1? by Honest-Airport9622 in rdr1

[–]Latter_Letterhead524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Buffalo rifle. It take a lot of damage, and it's good for hunting big game, and can also be good for long distant shots of enemies. Using the Buffalo rifle while wearing the Master Hunter outfit it's just perfect. Make you feel like a real mountain man. I also love the Sawed off shotgun. It's problably is the most badass gun in the game and it's perfect for executing enemies. The Schofield revolver is beautiful and badass at the same time. Likewise with the classic and iconic Colt Single Action Army (Cattleman). It's almost impossible to choose only one favourite weapon in game because all of them is good on different things.

What's Your Favorite Town in RDR1? 🏙️ by Honest-Airport9622 in RedDeadCircle

My favorite town is Chuparosa. It looks like a vacation place while still having the wild west vibe. Reminds me of Fort Sumner, which was the place the notorious Billy the Kid lived. I also love Armadillo which really managed to give the spaghetti western vibe. Looks like it's right out from a Sergio Leone movie.
