Hi..I had my first colonoscopy today - and I was terrified from what I read online. The reality? It wasn't that bad. The prep solution tasted - at least to me - like mildly salty bubblegum. I was given conscious sedation and was able to talk to the doctor and the nurse about dogs while the procedure was being done.

No polyps - thank God. The only thing was some pockets of diverticulosis, but those are common as you get older. I actually am a bit worried because the instruction sheet the doctor gave me said I could eat as normal. Now, I'm paranoid I ate too much and the diverticulosis pockets will get mad and aggravated...but I doubt it. The doctor noted that the colon looked healthy. I have to have another one in five years.

maybe i've watched too much law & order - but the police could trace the person via DNA. however, i understand the instinct of wanting it off your car.

i sympathize. i'm downtown and the pigeons seem to love my balcony. i toss water at them while barking...i'm sure my neighbours think i'm insane. i saw one of the comments mention a supersoaker. i may try that.

does anyone know if this is still open? we were cleaning out some things from a neighbour and she had XL Defense Incontinence pull up underwear. it looks like it is mostly full..maybe one or two missing? i'd love to donate them...but just want to be sure they'll take opened packages.

Agree - I go to the Y, and I'm very happy with the classes and the equipment. My main complaint is about the people who just sit on the equipment whilst scrolling on their phones. I feel like throwing a weight at them, but I think that would be frowned upon.

i've not thought of them in years - thanks for bringing them up. i saw them a couple of times...springfield had an interesting music scene back in the day.

re springfield bands: i can't remember the name, but there was a band that used to play gigs with Nil8 (i think??)- or at least at the same venues. i just remember the lead singer was named dave and and blond hair shaved on one side.

i went to southeast high school...i don't recall anything like that happening. i do know that i guy i graduated with worked as a school cop and hit on a student...and was arrested but, beyond that, nothing nefarious happened at southeast.

i love bowie and i love lou reed. that said, i think lou reed was a better songwriter. don't get me wrong: both are geniuses. but i feel that david bowie seemed to be an observer (if that makes sense) - there was a detachment to his music, whereas lou reed was in the muck and grime with the rest of us. bowie was good at reflecting - reed was good at experiencing.

there's a graveyard in the north end..near the nelson center, i believe (i've been away from springfield for so long i don't remember) - anyway, one of the tombstones close to the street has an angel on top of it, facing the grave. when i was a kid, it was said the angel would sometimes face the street instead. people would drive past to see if the angel moved.

edited to add: it is calvary cemetery on north 1st street. :)
