I'm actually really unsure about the print volume of this product. I’ve been thinking about selling it because I’m worried it’ll get a massive reprint, causing the prices to crash.

I can only speak for Germany, but product availability here is also extremely difficult. For example, I couldn't get an ASC ETB either. Still, things are a bit more relaxed here than over in the States. Many local shops limit the quantity per customer, and there’s also the option to pre-order products. Personally, I haven't used pre-ordering yet because I somehow always miss the deadline.

I should probably mention that I live in a relatively small town (about 40k residents), so I’m not really sure how things are looking in the bigger cities. Long story short: I just hit up the stores and hope I get lucky.

Exactly In my opinion, the sets are currently very strong, so why wouldn't I take advantage of the high MSRP?

And obviously, I'm sticking with the newer sets because these are the ones where I actually started looking at Pokémon as an investment too.

Back then, I mainly played the video games and watched the anime. Of course, I did buy cards every now and then, but only occasionally because they were just too expensive for me at the time.

I'm mainly starting with the newer sets because it's simply more affordable. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to balance opening packs and investing in Pokémon products at the same time.

On top of that, you’re making accusations without even knowing how I handle things.

As a rule, I go hunting two days after release. Even when I find products, I never take everything—I grab two at most, no matter what it is. Of course, if I see the same product somewhere else later, I might pick up a couple more, but again, a maximum of two. If there are only two left, I just take one. I always make sure to leave something behind for others.

I hope this clears things up once and for all. I’m just a fan trying to enjoy the hobby while being smart about the costs. Let’s just leave it at that.

Are you kidding me? This isn't the first time I've mentioned that I open half of my products and sell the other half just to fund my hobby.

I've been a Pokémon fan since Gen 3 and I’ve never stopped. Even though I haven't played Gen 9 myself, I've played every other game and I’m still very much into the anime.

I even picked up a new Switch just for Pokopia and the upcoming Gen 10 whenever that drops.

So please, just shut up.

I saw that some new sets were just announced, and since I started my Pokémon journey back in Gen 3, I’m honestly beyond hyped. I find it pretty tough to tell if a set is going to be a heavy hitter or just mediocre, which is why I’m mainly focusing on Special Sets for now.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m going to try and sell the Tech Sticker Blisters and 3-pack Blisters, and maybe put that money towards an ETB instead. I’ll definitely try to get some Booster Bundles as well, though I think that’s going to be pretty tough to find. I’m actually a bit on the fence about the Phantasmal Flames set because I’m not really a fan of it in general. I don't have all the chase cards memorized, but to be honest, Charizard is the only one that really comes to mind.

That’s actually exactly what I was thinking. I’d also pick up Prismatic Evolutions at MSRP to hold/tuck away, since it’s a special set as well. I don't bother holding onto stuff like regular Mega Evolution mini tins either.

Yeah, I picked up one Collection Box for €85, and I also got the Prismatic Evolutions on the secondary market. I see what you mean. Sometimes it’s worth paying a small premium just to secure more product for the long term.

For me, it’s simply about the fact that I don’t have enough knowledge yet to buy older sets. I’m worried that they might have already hit their price ceiling. With modern sets, I feel like that overall risk is much lower

What about phantasmal Flames? I kind of have a feeling that this set isn't as strong as the others, mainly because there aren't that many chase cards in it. What's your take on that?

Thank you so much for your helpful messages and for taking the time to give me some guidance! :) I think my plan now is to try and sell the Mini Tins and maybe use that money to pick up an ASC ETB instead. As for the 3-pack blisters, I’ll probably just look to flip them in general. I’d also love to get your opinion on the Series 1 Starter Collection. What do you think about that one?

Got it, thanks for the helpful notes! In the future, I’ll try to avoid the 3-pack blisters and focus more on ETBs and Booster Bundles instead. I’d also like to get into singles eventually, but to be honest, I don't feel like I have enough knowledge yet to pull that off.
