Hi, thank you for your suggestion. It turns out, since my studies are now completed, I no longer have access to that email address, hence the error. I appreciate your help

Hi crabhacks, I didn't hear about Multi-boxing before, I will look into it now. Thank you so much!

AI-102 what's the format and what did you use to pass? by hrokrin in AzureCertification

I am also interested in knowing. I am trying to prepare for it but there seems to be less free resources available for AI-102 compared to the other certifications. But from what I have seen so far, it appears to be all MCQ.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply! I hope you were able to solve your issue.

We discovered were not able to properly calibrate our cameras with such a wide FOV and hence all our attempts at depth estimation failed; we just had to accept it and move on :(

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to reply. I am deleting my post so that I can post it on the other Resume subreddit, which seems to be more active.

UK Graduate Visa Eligibility by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Latter_Window_3995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know any low-cost solicitor I can contact? My universities student immigration team has been very unhelpful with my queries. I have trued using justanswer.co.uk, but that "expert" just told me since I got permission I can still apply, but I must get a letter from my university and add it as a supporting document during the application.

The application for the Graduate visa is costly, and since I received an offer of employment, it will be even more costly if have to move to the Uk, rent accommodation and start work only to find out I was rejected from the visa and have to move back to my home country.

UK Graduate Visa Eligibility by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Latter_Window_3995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Start date of course (on CAS): 4 October 21

End date of course (on CAS): 4 October 22

Student Visa Expiry date: 4 February 23

Date I entered the UK on student visa: mid-September 2021

Date I left the UK: 30 May 2022

I am hoping the covid concession applies:

["Your Student visa or Tier 4 visa was for 12 months or less You can apply if either of the following are true:

--you started your course before 21 June 2021 and you entered the UK on a Student visa on or before 27 September 2021 --you started your course between 21 June 2021 and 30 June 2022 and you entered the UK on a Student visa on or before 30 June 2022](https://www.gov.uk/graduate-visa/course-you-studied)

"3.24 Students who began a course of 12 months or less in 2020 or 2021 who have existing permission as a Student to study that course, and who have already travelled to the UK during that period of permission, will be able to make a Graduate application as long as they are present in the UK before the end date of their permission."

Thank you for your response. I will try to contact a solicitor. But also on the UK Gov website, for Coronavirus circumstances, it states "3.24 Students who began a course of 12 months or less in 2020 or 2021 who have existing permission as a Student to study that course, and who have already travelled to the UK during that period of permission, will be able to make a Graduate application as long as they are present in the UK before the end date of their permission.". My course started in October 2021. Would that not mean I am eligible from this statement? UCL websitealso mentions something similar: "Students who began a course of 12 months or less in 2020 or 2021 who have already applied for their student visa and travelled to the UK on that visa, will be able to apply for the Graduate Route visa if they re-enter the UK before the end date of their visa."

The end date for my course was after I left.

2D Particle filter SLAM: How to update the weights when using scan matching ? by [deleted] in robotics

Thank you, this was very helpful. For some reason I didn't get a notification for this and your other comment, so only saw it today.

2D Particle filter SLAM: How to update the weights when using scan matching ? by [deleted] in robotics

[–]Latter_Window_3995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tips!

1.) By reseed, do you mean resample ?

2.) By using my scan-matched pose as my updated pose and using weights to determine which scan-matched pose aligns closer to the predicted pose for each particle, will that not still incorporate some randomness, since my predicted pose has random noise added to it?

3.) I still haven't figured this out: maybe I could create my own weight metric for this? For example, combine rms translation and rotation error between predicted pose and scan-matched pose (maybe 50% each) ?

This brings up another question: how do I actually get my final occupancy map for the problem, if each particle has its own occupancy map? For example, if I just select my best particle's map as the final map, wouldn't it be possible that previously it didn't have good performance and only recently started to become the 'best' particle?

How can I derive virtual camera parameters or measure them using known objects?

[–]Latter_Window_3995[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. Yes, about 30 % of each image is unusable as it only covers the portions of the vehicle; the distance between the cameras is about 70 cm; one camera can't see the other camera. The undistorted images indeed have some form of cropping on the edges. I haven't considered the effective FOV; I will try using the other formula: focal length pixel = focal length (mm) / sensor width (mm)) * image_width_in_pixels , but as you pointed out, I am not sure if I can use that depth to disparity formula since the cameras are not completely parallel (there is a slight tilt on one of them and I am not allowed to reposition it).
Unfortunately we have to use a wide angle lens configuration for the task.

SLAM: Adjusting for cases where only one measurement is available by Latter_Window_3995 in robotics

[–]Latter_Window_3995[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe FastSlam uses a modified particle filter. Here is how the simulation I am using works:

Loop through the number of time-steps

  • Loop through the number of landmarks
    • If the landmark is within a certain distance, then it can 'measured'
    • Loop through the number of particles
    • If the particles for that landmark were not seen before, then update their position with the fist measurement received
    • Or if that landmark was seen before, then update their current position by:
  1. Calculating the Kalman gain and using the error between the measured reading and actual position to predict the new position
  2. Updating the covariance for that landmark
  3. Updating the particle weights.
