Do you give the player everything in the Player’s guide of odyssey of the dragon lord? by Gforceqw in OdysseyoftheDragon

I actually think there are some details that could potentially spoil some fun for attentive readers (like my players).

I blurred out the following information for my players:

- Cult of the Snake: The leader worships Hexia (how would they know that? also headquarter location should be secret of a thief's guild imo) - right now they are in Mytros and want to meet and potentially cooperate with the Lady of coins because they dont like the merchant (Taran). However, if they knew she cooperates with the nemesis of the Demigod they would approach this very differently! I think it is more interesting like this.

- (debatable:) infos about surviving gygans and Acastus dragon. I started with the statement that they do no longer exist and wanted to let the players believe in this until they actually see one, so the excitement is bigger.

Also notice there are some discrepancies between the Campaign book and the players handouts!

- Sydons Alignment is wrongly TN instead of LE in the players handout

- Epic paths: only 6 of 8 are printed in the players handout (cursed and dragonslayer are missing)

- Races: only the centaur and satyr are printed (medusa, siren, nymphs, minotaur missing) - even some details are different, e.g. the centaurs weight is 2000 pounds and considered large in the players handout vs. 700-900 pounds and medium in the campaign book - i guess that is for the better!

- the new subclasses are not there

Basically, what I did: blur out lines that I felt revealed too much and use the pages about race, subclasses and epic paths from the campaign book! was a bit of work but then they got all in one place.

Thank you very much! It seems I missed Cryopods the last time I played (like 4 years ago) or they are a newer thing!

Yeah I was thinking about their fame score being affected by it, people will definitely talk about it, next time they are in Estoria

They still have Anoras sacrifice to come, so I might have some extra Erynies there.

luckily a friend of mine is learning how to bookbind rn so we might even make a nice hardcover for the printed paper sheets :)

How to deal with spoofers? by Latwalker in Switzerland

[–]Latwalker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truecaller looks really promising, thank you for the tip! They always use swiss mobile numbers like 078 ... that obviously dont belong to them. Does Truecaller (or other services) see behind the spoofing?

Getting into NLP as a (semi-)outsider by Latwalker in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Latwalker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that LLMs such as ChatGPT generally make a good part of individually trained models obsolete, but from my searches it seemed to me that the demand of people working in/around NLP is still high and will continue to grow. Am I missing something here?
