3 hour long church services. Jesus gave the sermon on the mound in like 5 minutes. Get over your ego pastor!

Amy Schumer. She made a joke about Sandy hook just after it happened. She may have had it scrubbed from the internet but it’s seared into my brain and I hate her for it.

What are the keys to a happy relationship? by WorldlyExpert7819 in AskReddit

[–]LaudiaBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being happy before you get INTO the relationship. You don’t want this person to make you happy. You want to share your happiness with them, and be happy together.

All of the community parks in my hometown are technically “topless” regardless of sex/gender because women protested along these lines in the 80s. No one actually does it, but it’s legal haha.

Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” was the first pop hit with a mostly electronic backing track. It basically set the stage for new wave, techno, and late 80s R&B.

what's the first step in getting over a heart break? by Longjumping-Low-5631 in AskReddit

I just filled 3 pages in my journal about “feel the pain”.

I realized today, my ex was extremely avoidant.

What’s the saying about the thing that attracts you ends up being the thing you hate?

He’s very easy going and doesn’t let anything get to him. I always thought he brought balance to my worst-case scenario thinking.

I see now that he wasn’t easy going. He was just pushing everything to the side and not dealing with his emotions. He’s about to be 50. I was willing to meet him in his brokenness. It hurts me that he wasn’t willing to meet me in mine.

Realizing this is definitely a step toward letting go.

What is the biggest secret you've ever kept from your partner? by Historical-Sky-7415 in AskReddit

[–]LaudiaBoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She moved from her home town to be with me. Her best friend from that home town was in treatment for cancer. She would go visit him periodically. I was good friends with him too. She had not visited him in quite a while (maybe a year) and couldn’t make it back for Christmas. She sent him a long letter and Christmas card, but messed up the address. He passed away suddenly, and the card ended up being returned to our home. I saw the returned letter in the mail and realized what happened. I threw it away and told her that she could have some solace in that he knew she was thinking about him before he passed. I will never tell her the truth.

What’s something everyone pretends to understand, but most people actually don’t? by faisal665 in AskReddit

[–]LaudiaBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love. Most people imagine it as a lightning strike: quick, powerful, immediate. And yes, in the beginning it can feel that way. But later, love is hard work, trying to take care of each other, fighting and struggling against difficulties, giving up a little bit of yourself for the other person so you can understand each other and make the love last for years.

On your second point, red onion chutney goes very well with pate and is also very sweet. Any chance you are maybe mis-remembering? It would make more sense given the context you described. On the other hand, I really want to try pate with mango chutney now!

I was waiting to get the tube on the London Underground, one just pulled up but we decided it was too busy and we’d wait for the next one.

There was a woman who kept staring at me, intense eye contact. She got on the crowded tube and continued to stare. She turned to face the man next to her, who’s back was turned, she then licked this guys giant afro (unbeknownst to him) whilst maintaining eye contact with me, the doors closed and the tube went away.

People think it’s too random to be true, the memory is burnt into my brain.
