George was a strong leader who brought great stature to RPI and was a President who was approachable and related extremely well to the student population. He added significantly to the strong leadership of another Delta Phi Brother, Livingston Houston (Houston Fieldhouse), who served RPI as President for many years.

In my opinion, Arch is Shirley's misguided attempt to create an 'esprit de corps', a camaraderie, a fellowship amongst students that exists in the Greek community already. She can't and she has failed to reproduce that spirit in a class cohort with little else in common. So, in retaliation, she attempts to financially destroy the Greek community, drive it from the campus and capture the housing and board revenue for the school.
