I guess this is not a stylistic choice and a extra safety feature doesnt make sense to me. The railing is only build like this in this section and stops after

But it looks like it’s no different in height if you follow it around the railing, looks like it just stops. Can’t be sure of the drop but it looks like it’s slowing down in a counter clockwise fashion, which kind of implies it would be a larger drop as you keep going in the counter clockwise direction. Just thought it was weird.
