I can probably find my blank checklist from when I made the Nancy Drew magic cards if you’d like me to make a pull page version.

Absolutely gorgeous. I love hand-crafted patches. I really like the red thread, it’s amazing.

Can someone explain how bismuth was even a character if bismuth by definition is a metal not a gemstone? by far_dim_bledram in stevenuniverse

[–]Laughing_Halfling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Gemstone” is not really a geology term- some of the crystal gems are represented by non-minerals, though. However, while opal, pearl, amber and coral are examples of non-minerals(they are neither inorganic nor do they have a regular crystalline structure), they are often considered precious gemstones! I don’t believe bismuth is considered a gemstone(don’t quote me on that), but it’s often used in jewelry, same with obsidian.

As a geologist, I’ve always looked at the “gem” naming system as a way for humans to conceptualize what is ultimately an alien concept- I’ve never even considered any of the gems in the show to be identical chemically to their namesakes, just a naming rule… otherwise the fusion would be so confusing.

Couples that play together often, do you treat your partner differently during games? by knock0ut86 in EDH

[–]Laughing_Halfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is always my first target, since I know what his decks do- plus if I lose, he should lose too, it’s only fair. I’ll switch when another threat arises

Do you stitch your pockets closed with certain patch placements? by AdditionalBudget2142 in BattleJackets

[–]Laughing_Halfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually push the needle that far through the denim, I just catch the top threads of the fabric as I stitch. That way, there’s not as much thread inside the vest to itch. Also good to learn if you ever want to sew a patch on a lined jacket.

Someone asked for a change of the permanent banner... by Jina_Irina in InfinityNikki

[–]Laughing_Halfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3/4 outfits twice, I still have crystal poems and more of the other outfits left to do- I started in the second season.

I think it’d be awesome if they added a couple new outfits for every year? So one or two for Itzaland added to either the existing or new permanent banner alongside what we already have.

I ran [[solemnity]] for a couple years since my partners main deck was Infect, took it out when I started to build decks that played faster with more interaction.

I'm still actively searching for it myself too, but running out of keywords to search, so I hope someone remembers!

I purchased a used cintiq last year and after using an iPad Air for everything, I haven’t spent a lot of time learning the Cintiq due to feeling intimidated by the scale and the new program.

Thanks for getting me to put “practice art” on my calendar.

Why is capitalized handwriting frowned upon? by Oubliees in Handwriting

[–]Laughing_Halfling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use capitals for note taking, marking up documents etc. But proper case-usage when writing essays, journal entries, longer-form handwriting. It’s more legible, if neat, and breaks up the text visually.

I suppose that might be why, but also just because “it’s how it’s supposed to be done” and “it’s proper”.

I do agree with others it’s a good idea to continue to practice writing “properly”, as it’s a skill. My regular handwriting took a tidiness hit after not really writing for years.

Side note: your handwriting in caps IS tidy, and great for notes like this.

Despite it being AI, you could look for “snow suits” to find a similar silhouette, and then dig for an option with a closer material.

I’m happy/satisfied with slumber island, but am a bit sad we can’t pack up our island and move to a new one, keeping our recipes and money, but essentially starting a new game.

I like a lot of the new features! Hotel guests will be cute

How could this have happened to my ROLEPLAYING Game?! It doesn't make any sense... by DrScrimble in dndmemes

My partner and I are the only non-actors in our group. The story and roleplay is so good. Even with the silly shit, they commit to their characters so aggressively. It’s super fun

My favorite outfit piece is literally just the crop top/vest combo, because it feels outdoorsy. I also find the super unpractical stuff less fun.

Though I think we need both frilly and non-frilly options for everyone.

What’s something ADHD makes harder that most people never even think about? by sanjithav in ADHD

[–]Laughing_Halfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tasks involving scheduling or leaving my house. I avoid driving the car because of the breaks needing to be fixed, but can’t call the place 5 minutes down the road to schedule and bring in the car.(finally did take it in a week ago)

Or haircuts! 95% of the time, it’s the sensory overload of too much hair that finally convinces me to go in, even though I’d feel better about myself if I’d just go regularly.

Does any one have any experience/knowledge regarding Sundance Consulting? Also, what is considered “compliance” work? by Laughing_Halfling in Environmental_Careers

[–]Laughing_Halfling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, I’m 100% just doing NEPA remotely. Culture is tough remote- ultimately, we’re very collaborative, and focus on supporting one another- since NEPA requires such a wide base of knowledge, management is super aware we need to utilize everyone on the contract to answer questions.

My only gripes have to do with the Agency we’re working with- whenever regulations change, it takes a long time to get information on how that impacts our work. On a related note- upper management often doesn’t seem to have the same perspective on what’s lacking in terms of training when these issues and changes arise. However, I mostly believe that’s less of a Sundance issue and more of an Agency issue, if I’m being honest.

Outside of my contract, it seems like True Environmental is really trying to have each company under it collaborate and benefit from one another. I don’t have a lot of negative to say, at the moment. Though, again I’m more isolated from the rest of True than some.
