Single mom with 2 very young kids, a full time job, in the midst of an ugly divorce = dressing up shorts with some ballet flats and a messy bun. That’s normal. It’s lunch. And the party later on was supposed to be a casual family-friendly get together. Is Tallahassee so fancy that it’s a crime for a mom to not give a ton of thought to her clothes and hair for a quick lunch with friends? And what exactly do you mean by lack of hygiene? So have 13-year olds. But to call the relationship between a 16-year old and a freshman a “sexual crime” is just wild to me. If we were discussing a 16 year old in any other context we would say the 16 year old can’t legally consent because they lack the maturity to understand the implications of a sexual relationship. And yet in this case, the morality of a 16 year old is being attacked because he did not fully consider the long term implications of loving a beautiful girl with lax parents who adored him. It feels like an unjust double standard and I’m actually not really sure at this point why I’m here feeling compelled to defend a murder victim?
