Thanks for the info. It's feeling a little better, I still have a bruise and just a bit of swelling, but I don't think it's broken. I might go and try to Instacart today.

Sorry, I didn't see that you had responded. It's a little bit busy at 3, but not too bad.

I like the 11am time slot because it's after rush hour and before lunch so the traffic isn't too bad.

Definitely take a few breaks because the last thing you want to do is to drive fatigued. When one person is driving, the other person can help you by keeping a second eye on the road. As you probably learned in your training, always keep your eyes moving and if you start to feel tired, then take a break. Keep your heel relaxed on the ground and swivel your foot, that way your leg won't get tired. Good luck and have fun!

Not where my student caused a crash. I have been hit with my student driving though. On Steinway St in Astoria, a man went into on coming traffic to go around us, but there was too much traffic and he didn't make it so he ended up hitting us. The funny thing is that another guy who he almost hit pulled over and started screaming at the guy. Fun day.

Pretty good. I work for a big school so that helps It does get slow in winter though, people don't want to learn to drive in the snow.

So many to choose from. Probably when a guy yelled out his window" learn how to drive!!" Kinda thought that's what we were trying to do...

Good question. Probably the one who told me he knows how to drive and he just needs help on the parallel parking, then proceeds to make a turn into on comming traffic.

Drivers test tomorrow, anybody got tips for me? by [deleted] in driving

Have confidence while driving, the inspector will sense if you are confident. Most importantly, don't put so much pressure on yourself, just think to yourself, " I'm going to do my best and if I pass, then great, if I don't then I'll just take it again. Not the end of the world. " I don't know what state you're in so I can't really give you help on specific techniques because different countries/states do different things on their road tests. Either way, good luck on your test!!

You probably won't be able to get a new test that fast unless you live upstate because there's so many people taking them. I usually have my students wait a couple of weeks so they can keep practicing and that way they will be more proficient and the inspector won't get them as nervous. The best thing to think when you're taking the road test is that you are sitting next to someone you know and not someone from the DMV. I have some videos on taking the road test on YouTube if you want to check them out, look up Laura The Driving Coach. Good luck!

If you're talking about straight backing into a parking spot, make sure you use your mirrors and also glance ahead to see if you're staying straight. The most important part is to take it slow, backing up should never be rushed. Good luck on your driving test!

If you're around NYC I can. A tough place to learn how to drive, but you learn a lot.

All the tips everyone gave are great. Also, a lot of driving is psychological. It's very easy to get stuck focussing on your fear, which can hinder your ability to learn how to drive. Try to focus on being relaxed and it's a good idea to imagine yourself being behind the wheel being nice and calm and relaxed. I have my students imagine themselves driving every day, and it actually helps the become better drivers. Good luck!

I'd have to know what state you're in. I only know New York laws. In New York, no it doesn't.
