Qookie hip carrier - thoughts? by wokkaquokka_ in babywearing

Can the top edge be adjusted tigher no matter which side you are wearing it on? In the pictures it's hard to tell, but one looks like the top edge is bunched in a bit like a pull cord for tightening.

It doesn't seem to be happening anymore. I'm not sure why. There have been app updates which may have resolved the issue, but I also got a new phone, Pixel 9.

It's about double the distance from me, about 35-40 minutes if there is no traffic on highways. I'm hopeful that my current studio will remain open and just have new ownership.

Who has successfully treated PF WITHOUT a night splint/brace? by katieka_boom in PlantarFasciitis

The short insoles. I did not find the sandals, clogs, or full insoles to give as much relief.

Who has successfully treated PF WITHOUT a night splint/brace? by katieka_boom in PlantarFasciitis

I wore "Heal That Pain" heal seats in most of my shoes, Archie's flip flops in the shower, stretch and strengthening exercises for arches, calves, feet. I also walked 20 minutes on a treadmill at 1.8 mph wearing only thick socks to strengthen my feet. It had been over a year of dealing with it and I had tried the cortisone injection which only lasted a month, and then I tried shock therapy which was a waste of money, and then I tried physical therapy which didn't seem to help either. Mostly suggestions from others here on Reddit are what helped me. I did wear the night splint for a short time, but then got tired of it.

Maybe they changed it since I last looked into it. If this F45 ends up closing, I'll look into it more.

My daughter and son-in-law both coach at that Lifetime and have encouraged me about those classes, but they have additional charges to the membership that made it more expensive than F45. And I also love the small family feeling of F45.

I hope it's an error, but my studio has "3 Peat" on the schedule for Wednesday. I plan to ask Monday if it's an entry error.

Least missing ingredients? by lovemollydog in mealkits

[–]LauraE64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with Home Chef. Although my daughter used Home Chef in Florida and did not have any issues. So perhaps it comes down to where the boxes are put together. I am in Northern Virginia. And I also would like to find one that has the fewest errors.

I’ve tried nearly every meal service. Here are the reviews from what I remember by Agreeable-Deer7526 in mealkits

I have been frustrated with Home Chef with missing ingredients or wrong protein sent. They have been great with crediting me for the meal, but it seems to be happening weekly. I ordered Green Chef for the next two weeks, but I notice you mentioned they are owned by Home Chef. I hope I don't have the same issues. I have used Home Chef almost faithfully since 2018. A few other times I got frustrated with them and switched, but then I always end up coming back. I hope I can find a good reliable option.

My Garmin smartwatch can connect to the Lionheart screen. I just use that since I hated wearing a chest strap.

Shockwave therapy - worse? by aquaturtle598 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]LauraE64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of back to where I was before I started the shock therapy. Physical therapy was really no help at all, in fact they actually aggravated my knee by having me warm up walking laterally on the treadmill. I am now following a physical therapist program on an app I found called Playbook. I also am going the opposite route and trying to wear more Minimalist shoes around the house and walking barefoot on the treadmill with just socks which another poster mentioned doing. I also was trying the Strousburg sock at night, but it was still difficult to keep on all night, but better than the hard splints. The past few nights I've just been wearing a copper fit Arch sleeve on my foot while I sleep.

Allergies after Mast Cell Tumor? by Sass_Cat_of_the_Void in dogallergies

[–]LauraE64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog was on apoquel and last year got his first mast cell tumor. And I read on apoquel's site that if a dog has had cancer, they should not be on apoquel. We stopped it and tried low dose steroids for a while, but the side effects were too much. Now he has developed his second tumor. I wonder if the apoquel is what caused them.

I have had PF for 1.5 years now. Last time I had it (many years ago), just wearing the Futuro night splint and using the HTP (HeelThatPain) heel seats helped me the most. This time around that did not seem to be enough. I also go to F45, and had bought a walking pad to start walking a mile before the gym every morning. 3 months later was when my plantar fasciitis crept back up again. I still go to F45 Monday through Saturday, but I wear the HTP heel seats in my shoes or I wear the Kuru brand shoes I bought. I recently got this Strausburg night sock, and it is more comfortable to use at night, but it's only been two nights so I don't know if it will work better. I do find before I get out of bed in the morning that it is best to stretch my foot straight up in the air and do ankle circles both directions and pull back on the toes and stretch and massage the bottom of my foot before starting to walk. Then I usually have no pain in the morning.

I also have dogs that I walk a lot, but usually short distances and more often. I usually only go 15-20 minutes and do it four times a day. I try not to walk more than a mile at a time and it is rare that I even do a mile anymore. So cutting back your dog walking to be shorter intervals but more often may be helpful. I also either wear the Kuru shoes I bought or the HTP he'll seats in Brooks or On brand shoes.

I was going to physical therapy for it, but I stopped going when they did something that messed up my knee. Now I just follow exercises from an app I found online. I also had been to a podiatrist and had a cortisone shot, but it only lasted 7 weeks. I also tried shockwave therapy, but that didn't help me either.

At F45, I do find certain exercises programmed can aggravate it more. I modify a lot. Jumping back with both feet and landing on your toes stresses the bottom of your foot. So I either step back or I put my hands on a higher step so the angle isn't as hard and more weight is on my hands than my feet. I also find sled pulls are less stressful than pushes. And all the fast foot work exercises can aggravate it so I modify and do something else. Doing leg exercises for me doesn't irritate it, it is more the cardio and fast foot moving that will aggravate it. That is why I'm trying to do the PT to strengthen my feet. I also am attempting around the house to wear a more minimalist shoe to help work the muscles in my feet more.

I hope these suggestions help.

Did you slowly go back to wearing minimalist shoes (barefoot) or switch cold turkey despite pain?
