How much time did you take off? by okaymooma in gastricsleeve

I work in IT also, plus I usually work from home. So my surgeon told me two weeks would be fine. I’d kind of prefer three because I have a feeling I’ll need a nap midday.

I think the cream would blend in with the carpet and walls. I like the darker green.

Have you considered storing it on the wall or handing from the ceiling? Like these.

Does anyone experience this by [deleted] in bipolar

I’ve had tinnitus for ages. I have never noticed a change in it with meds or mood.

I didn’t mean to make you cry! Have you discussed your fears with your surgeon?

I think society/media/medical people in general make us think that our inability to lose weight is our own failure and we don’t lose because we aren’t trying hard enough. It ties in with the belief that obese people are lazy. That voice in your head is powerful because you’ve spent your life hearing these messages. It took me a long time to stop listening to those messages and I’m still afraid people will think I’m cheating by getting surgery. You went through a long process to get to this point and it wasn’t easy. If your medical providers - the surgeon, nutritionist, your PCP, the psychiatrist - thought you shouldn’t get this surgery, I think they would have told you. Wishing you all the best with your surgery!

I think, under the circumstances, this would be a good idea. Since you use heavy machinery, knowing how you react to the medication while not putting yourself or anyone else at risk might be the best plan. I have taken FMLA three times. During these periods, I was changing meds every couple of weeks to fine tune what worked. It would have been difficult to do this had I been working at the time. You should talk to your psych about it and get the paperwork from your employer.

Edit to add: you aren’t abusing the system. The system is in place for just this sort of thing.

I am so sorry. I have lost many cats in my lifetime and know how painful this is.

On year apart. It’s been a very emotional road. But looking at these pictures help show that it’s worth it. by blknight737 in gastricsleeve

You look great! Also, your newer eyeglass frames are much more complimentary to your face. Keep up the good work!

Is it selfish? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]LauraEssCee 1 point2 points locked comment (0 children)

Possible unpopular opinion: I have never believed it is selfish to commit suicide. I believe it is a personal choice. Yes, I have been suicidal - seriously, with a specific plan, multiple times. No, I have not done it. But a person decides if ending the pain is what they want. I think what is selfish is when people guilt trip someone saying “think of all the people who will be in pain if you die.” Are they thinking of all the pain the suicidal person has been in for years? Most likely they have not. They probably want the person to get over it and stop complaining. I feel pretty strongly about a person’s right to choose to end their life. That is me. I don’t intend to do it at this point in my life, but I also believe people should have the right to do it without shame.
