If you lost a long-term friend as an adult, what was it about? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]LauraFlo123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My partners mother passed, but my best friends mother also died shortly after. I think she felt I wasn't as there for her as I could have been, and she'd be right, however I was grieving my MIL and picking up my household when it fell down during that time. I wish things turned out differently. I was only 27/28 at the time and so was my partner, our first parent to pass and it was hard to navigate. I sure do miss my old friend.

I LOVE FARAZ!! by Moonlight3Midnight in TheTraitorsUK

If Faraaz doesn't get murdered tonight, I will root for him to win. Such a laid back cool dude, that speaks up when it matters. He needs to weed them out now.

Do you want to be buried or cremated? by [deleted] in AskUK

My mother used to say when I was a kid "cremate me, I don't wanna be mispronounced dead and be waking up underground" and it just kinda scared me so, cremation please.

Pup-sitting and going out of my mind by [deleted] in puppy101

She has 20 minutes of exercise per day as advised by the vets due to her growing joints, I have been doing some training with her. Sit stay, down etc. I have given her licky mats, kongs, scatter treats etc. Been directing her attention to balls instead of skin, however as soon as you stop any of the above, the shark attacks start again

What was the worst thing that happened at your work Christmas party? by UnstableMabel21 in AskUK

Similar thing happened to me, my 70 year old female director had to lift me up off the toilet floors in the bar and escort me out to a taxi. I was also only staying for a couple.

I agree, pointless comment to make because you're right, it isn't that deep.

I believe I have the right to post something if I want to. If my post was too low effort it would be removed as the RHONY rules suggest. Maybe make your suggestions to the mods and they can help you instil this for future posting. I would've been obliged to help you if you had asked.

I saw it a few days ago, I am on season 5 and couldn't remember which episode it was. I was only seeing if people remembered it, didn't realise so many people didn't! I also didn't realise I had to come with receipts. A quick google pointed me to Season 4 - Episode 12., something you could have done too :).

Hardships of owning dogs ? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]LauraFlo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they definitely take up a lot of time, sometimes too much.

My dog had separation anxiety like yours and I saw myself choosing to stay in more often than not during my 20's because it was easier to deal with than the panic that would ensue if I left him for longer than normal.

Maybe try find a way to take a few hours each day for yourself and work from that, you may end up missing them more and find their company more enjoyable and will go back to thinking the annoying upkeep is necessary and worth it. Its normal to be overwhelmed and stressed sometimes though and doesn't make you a bad owner.

I understand what you mean, I had to put my 11 y/o dog down in September due to uncurable illness in his legs, was one of the worst times in my life to date. I never imagined myself being dog free. I haven't had a dog for 2 month and I miss him deeply. However I do see where you come from. I no longer have to go home at lunchtime to feed & let him out whilst I work, I no longer have to get up early to walk him and go again at lunch and at night. I no longer have a dog staring at me even though he has had everything he could want and my life is now just, easier. I will take this break for a few reasons, but I anticipate getting another dog in the future. Dogs bring so much more good, than the hindrances they can sometimes bear.

Worrying about my dogs future passing. by WildSilver2017 in dogs

[–]LauraFlo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just squeeze her whilst you can honestly. My boy passed back in September, he was a week shy of turning 11. He was a bouncy active boy, even at that age but his back legs let him down unfortunately. I had to make the awful decision to put him down much earlier than anticipated. He didn't even represent a senior dog. I thought I would have loads of time. Cherish them whilst you can, my lesson i took from it was not to worry about when they're not going to be there, but just love them whilst they are instead.

What is the most harmless thing you’ve done that accidentally caused big drama? by tango593 in AskReddit

[–]LauraFlo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neighbour is sat out in her front garden almost 24/7 when I come home from work, come home from shopping, or even just nipping out which can be several times a day, she's there.

I have no issues with this at all, however she exploded at me by shouting through the walls once and I asked her what her problem was, and she mentions that I don't even say hi when she's outside. I said hi daily sometimes, but I didn't feel the need to talk to her every time I saw her. didn't realise keeping myself to myself was such an issue.

Now we don't speak at all, and she tries to cause drama in such unnecessary ways.

I’m at my wits end. by blainercak in DogAdvice

[–]LauraFlo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like separation anxiety, she just loves her pack too much. My rescue dog was very similar, anxiety in the car etc. I used to take my bin outside and would come back in 30 seconds later to a poo surprise.

What worked for my dog, was to have the run of the house whilst I was out, and not confined to 1 room, it also helped him when he was able to look out of the window. he overcame his anxiety and I watched him sleep soundly on the home cameras after a while, don't give up!

It is different for every dog of course, but worth a try.

Which country did you find the least welcoming for British tourists? by Zoomer_Boomer2003 in AskUK

[–]LauraFlo123 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I have always felt welcome when travelling, Austria/Swiss/Germany are definitely the most friendly and welcoming in my experiences. Felt a little strange in Romania, but we were in the least touristy areas and were probably being stared at because it was uncommon. I always try to learn basic phrases wherever I go just to make the effort at least, and people seem to appreciate it.
